Awesome video! He really nailed the scenery and weathering on the rolling stock. The sky color is absolutely perfect. Best I've seen. 👍

What a masterpiece of model railroading. The scenery is amazing and I always feel I'm actually trackside watching the prototypes in person. The camera angles were great and made for a realistic view of the trains passing by and the motive power and rolling stock are excellent. I wish I had a complete VIA Canadian train in HO. This is definitely one of the best layout I've ever seen. Thank you for the awesome video !!!

Nice use of blue PACTRA tape on the Budd's to lighten the dark blue. I did the same for one of my RDC's and will do the same for the rest of my Budd's.

Absolutely incredible scenery. Congrats. One question--those VIA ditch lights are corded, not permanently installed, which suggests they were added in Jasper, AB for the trip west. In the 1990s, only BC required ditch lights (Alberta did not. . .), so they were taken off eastbounds at Jasper. Later that decade, all of Canada mandated ditch lights, by which time they would have been permanently installed and internally wired.

Lots of pictures available of corded ditch lights used on the VIA FP9's in Ontario in the early 80's too

It looks like cotton spray painted gray/ black
@donaldkormos55292 жыл бұрын
@@hunterkiller86 You're probably right. Maybe something else used like a stiffener of some sort (hair spray???) and then sprayed with paint. Maybe cotton presoaked in diluted India ink? Love to see someone experiment a bit and post a video. All the best ...

Its Poly-Fiber sprayed with a few different shades of grey/black to replicate the shadowing. There is a piece of music wire in it to secure it in place.
