mike.... i see you have the kato dcc system next to what looks like an mrc controller, so i will assume you have dcc. so, according to the rapido paperwork, the master volume is controlled by cv 63, so bring that cv number up. the volume range is from 0 to 192, so first try about 90 as a start which should be halfway on the volume scale. the default setting, which is set at the kato factory, is set at 192, so that is why you are so loud. if 90 is still too much, re-try about 80 and go down from there. you should have all the paperwork in your box... if an idiot like me can do it i am sure you can, too !!! good luck !!!

Well I tried to do by reading the instructions and watching through videos I couldn’t grasp it although I do have a friend of mine who knows how to do all the technical things in model Railroading

@@MichaelSaraka1980 hi mike !!! i fully understand how dcc "programming" can be a bit tough to get done. i was the same way but then one saturday morning i specifically went to the layout room and said "piss on it... i am gonna do this sh-t even if it takes all day " !!! i approached the same way you did... instructions first, then videos next then a friend helped and now i am ok. i can't do everything but i think you will find that things like volume control, adding/changing an address and the like are the simplest things to do. i was really super dependent on friends to do all that shit for me, but after i learned how to do even the most basic shit, it opened up a whole bunch of neat stuff for me !!! keep the nice videos rolling for us, mike... btw, if you have to, write down the steps your friend shows you when he helps, which is what i did .... it made a big difference for me !!!

mike...we cannot hear you over the loud engine noise at all... actually just barely !!! way too loud my friend !!!!
