General Electric wrestled the title of top domestic locomotive builder from EMD during the late 1980s with their Dash-8 series. GE once again positioned themselves to shakeup the locomotive world yet again less than a decade later. Entering the 1990s, GE completely revamped their locomotive lineup by utilizing customer feedback, learning from experience gained from previous locomotive series, and improvements in technology.
Originally built in the early 1990s, some of BNSF’s former Santa Fe fleet are also in the process of being rebuilt with AC-traction to extend their service lives and improve their performance.

Very impressive and attractive cw44-9 locomotive model from Scaletrains, this is a common engine on the BNSF system as they own more than 1500 dash 9 type locomotives on their roster. I really liked the BNSF heritage 1 style circle logo displayed on the front of the locomotive on the nose and the BNSF paint scheme is handsome.

Yes I Second that. thank you for the demo great job. scale trains are the best. Personally I don’t buy nothing but scale trains anymore and I always get DCC and sound. It’s more expensive. But the only way to go. 🤓

One mistake I caught is the walkway color. BNSF 1100 should have orange walkways, not red like on the model

Just picked up one of these in another number. It's a very nice model however after looking at the manual I discovered that mine didn't have the ground lights which it's suppose to have. From what I gather online, I guess the factory forgot to install the ground lights on a bunch of these! 🤦
