I've been looking at model railroad You Tube videos for a couple of weeks now, This is my favorite. THIS...is the best. I think it's because of the colorful scenery, the red KCE paint scheme and all this cool switching. I keep sending it to my non-railroad FB pals. I keep telling them that this is how a railroad works. Great, great stuff!

Jason, that is one huge layout. Each unit and car so much art to detail and weathering. Huge hauls too, counted 80 plus cars on that 5 unit latch up. Amazing, big fan here.

hi Jason... awesome run/op session.. love all the different motive power especially the ATSF units... the cab ride was fantastic.. thanks for sharing.. vinny

Thanks Vinny. Glad you enjoyed it. When I saw that Randy had pulled out his Santa Fe's, I thought "I better film this or Vinny will be displeased." Yeah I think that cab ride came out pretty neat. Working on some ideas to make cab rides more real, so keep an eye out. Thanks again.

Thanks Teady, glad you enjoyed it! Next time someone runs an intermodal, I'll get it filmed and included in a video at some point.

terrific video, wow is all I can say, wow, the cab ride has to be my favorite angle to watch
@RailfanJason8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dave. I'd have done more of the cab ride, but the camera is a little too big to fit through some of the scenery. Have an idea that I'm gonna try sometime to make cab rides easier. It's a fun perspective.

That cab ride was neat, cool how you ended the video right as the train went into the tunnel. :D My favorite train in this vid was the Oakway '60's hauling grain, sharp looking consist of hopper cars.
@RailfanJason8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dan. Have an idea in the works to make those cab rides easier to do. As it is now, the train and camera didn't like the exit portal and so... yeah, had to end it where did :D Those Oakways are pretty nice. Hard to beat Proto2000 SD60s in pulling power. Dad's 83 grain cars were no problem for those three units.

Just FYI Jason the cab ride camera is a little of center maybe you could try and fix that in the future.
@RailfanJason8 жыл бұрын
It's supposed to be a bit off the centerline. More like the view an Engineer has.

Out of curiosity, how would one obtain the sounds from UP 3984? Are they custom Digitrax sounds? I would love to have sound like that!
@RailfanJason7 жыл бұрын
thebrakeman17 Shane, this is your area of expertise. But, no, this is not Digitrax. It's ESU Loksound. Shane set it all up. He's my sound guy.

Great video! Are the KCS covered hoppers custom painted?
@RailfanJason8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, and no, they're all factory painted.
@nealstrainlayout8 жыл бұрын
Superb! Are they still available? Who makes them?
@RailfanJason8 жыл бұрын
Those aren't mine, so I'm not sure if they are making them or not still, but I believe they are Athearn cars. You'd just have to look on the internet for them.

at 10:32 where did you get that KCS gon?

Wish I could tell you, but it isn't my train. Most likely it was either purchased online or at a train show.

No offence, its real weird you have a file picture of a car. It should be a train. Like If You Agree
