Thanks for the tip. I have already two of R9 mini from Banggood, but I have ordered four of them from HK for FCC EU. I'm waiting for them to see the difference. All the best!

Brilliant video. Just what I needed to know after having so many issues with R9 RSSI. I think their Super8 antenna is not tuned for 868 either. We all got better results from the 868MHz True Mox. Keep up the great videos please.

Fantastic Pawel, I was waiting for you to do this, so simple to put it right.....Thank you......78mm...!!!!! Be interesting to compare RSSI readings now.....Great work.

I saw Bruce from RC models reviews test the FCC band and it goes from 900 to 930. So the tune of the wire at 915 is right in the middle of FCC. I use the wire antenna on my quad now with antenna tubes. So I guess its closer to 900mhz which is the low end of FCC. Soon I will upgrade to the frsky T shaped immoral T antenna. I think it will be better tuned when I mount it on my quad. Because I wont have to use antenna tubes to mount it which would change the velocity factor. The T antenna is pretty stiff twisted wire and it already has a protective coating. So I assume it will arrive tuned to 915 and I can mount it easy.

Thanks for this! I just got me N1201 a few days ago. For you and everyone else messing with rx antennas, search "SMA Male To U.fl Male Goldplated RF Connector Adapter" and there's a nice one to be found from aliexpress and ebay. I will have it to try tomorrow I think. ;)

Yeah, great advice. I'm using the same adapter with my N1201SA, and it's realy convenient. But unfortunately I didn't find similar adapter to MHF4 IPEX connector, which is necessary for tuning the R9Mini / R9MM antenna.

@@OTR1UM I've been looking for one as well, but thankfully I pretty much only use Slim+ Do post here if you come across them please!

eek.. i swamp my 2.4ghz antenna in cable tie and heat shrink... maybe thats why they are shorter than stated 1/4 wavelength? very useful info for euro pilots

I have a nanovna that i want to test a 8dbi 915mhz antenna but the lowest point is at 860mhz with -7.46db and 2.46swr. how do i know if it's good or not?

I set my R9MM antenna to 78mm, and it has done nothing to improve the RSSI at all....At 500 mtrs it drops like a stone to values around 50 or less, also seems very unstable...even using a 200mw TX output. Im using the Tru-Mox 868mhz antenna.

That's really interesting, dude... It's amazing how a small change in the wire length can make such a difference!

Część Paweł ... SUPER kanał dużo można się nauczyć 🙂 dobrze rozumiem czy mogę tak zmienić z UE na fcc przycinając antenę?
@FPVUniversity4 жыл бұрын

Nice! I use this method with cheap VTX antennas cut too short. But did anyone tried use TBS Immortal antenna with R9 Mini using IPEX4-IPEX1 adapter?

Have you tested the 1108 firmware already? Is it as good as they say? Do you also have all the mw on that firmware. I like to give it a try because now i have some failsafes at close range and in not give me any confidence

I am running FCC R9, so if I have the antenna in an antenna tube to hold it upright, I'm making it less efficient?
@FPVUniversity6 жыл бұрын
Depends. LoRa modulation used in R9 plus hequency hooping can be a few MHz wide. So even if best VSWR is slightly shifted, it might not make any difference
