He painted his front door a beautiful medium blue color. So, what does the HOA do? They tell him he must paint it a darker blue because they don’t like his blue. He changed it to a darker blue. But he fixed them soon after that by changing the door to a wrought (? Spelling) iron and tempered glass door. Much prettier than any painted door too.

People, like this Ken, loves having the power to control other people's lives. If you want to put them in their place, use the rules they enforce against them. Gather evidence that they are in violation of the HOA's rules as well as pressing charges when they trespass onto your property. All of this creates a paper trail that your lawyer - or a D.A. - can use for a whole number of outcomes. If you can get neighbors banded together, the outcome will be multiplied tremendously. It will be even worse for all the Karen's and Ken's working for the HOA especially when the amount of money being paid towards fines, legal fees, etc. is greater than the amount of income they have coming into their lives. When they have to sell their homes, and move out of the neighborhood, just to pay off everything, it will be a win for the neighborhood as a whole.
