I am cleaning out my parents' house right now - not a mess like this, but A LOT of stuff. I have been carefully checking value of any china, glassware, etc. online and then putting on Ebay. So far, it hasn't been too bad. Some of the china has been rare and valuable. I am not making a ton, but it's not just going into the trash, either. I need every penny for bills from the house before I can get it ready to sell. Unfortunately it take time and that is something you in your situation might not always have. You have to develop an eye for things quickly that might be worth keeping to sell.

Couldn't agree more. And here's the reality of that situation, taco sold him a gold ring for $2 that BBD took a chance on (he thought it might be silver) and it will melt for a whopping $60. That's a ring that very easily could have been sold to any other buyer that walked by Tacos table that day, for the ssame $2. But luckily Dave bought it, brought them a coffee and invited them to his honey hole. Taco is the winner in that transaction.

Actually Dave commented on that mirror in one of his videos. He's going to get it and a couple of matching sconces along with some other treasures after he gets a lot of the trash out of there.

They all have there camera lights, but if I was them i'd put down the cam on aa box or tripod and use a strap on headlight, 2 hands free gets the work done 4 times faster.

I am shocked, saw so many great smalls you just walked over. Perfect example, you picked up a piece of wood with a hole in it (clock frame/base) which you knew nothing about and walked right by a nice size wood bowl amount several dozen other nice items 😨 Shame, shame Taco. Gotta love ya though😊.

At 11:00 it is a checkbook ledger. Checks used to be paper and in situations where expenses need to be recorded you could get a check book where it provided a stub to record how much you wrote your checks for and whom you paid it to. The check itself is then torn out of the book leaving the stubs on the binder to keep for your records. Accountants make sense... sometimes.

The wood thing with the round hole is a clock missing the clock insert.You missed a nice wood bowl in the dining(?) room. The dessert plates with violets were nice in the lower built in cupboard in the DR. I hope Paper & Moose went through the Christmas stuff.

There was also some expensive china in that kitchen cupboard and he just looked at a worthless salt shaker. I guess if it's not something he personally likes (rock shirts) he won't deal with it.

I agree. I have gone to estate sales and it's sad to see someone's life laid out for all to see. I look at the items that person collected and think about the life lived. Although better for someone else to enjoy it vs. those items going to the dump.

Look at those tiny, tiny spiral (?) steps! That enamel top table you said you may grab sells for around $150 in my area. ( around 4:50 )They are as scarce as hen's teeth here. Great to see you and BBD in a sort of collaboration. Was fun. You should do it more often. Very kind of BBD to let you pick thru the house.

i think the piece you are calling a sprinkler is a tv antennae most. folks just called them rabbit ears.Back in the day when there was no cable and had 3 stations that went off the air at midnight tv's were black and white Yep I'm that old.The crazy lamp lady would have a ball in that place

Cheap de-icer : buy a spray bottle from dollar store, fill with 50/50 solution of rubbing alcohol and water. Works great!!

Dave started cherry picking the house first last week, loaded up unbelievable treasure items. Dave got the cream of the crop. Still treasures are there, I'd be so happy if a deal like this landed in my lap the owner is even paying for the dumpsters. I'd set things around the dumpster and tell people $1.00 deals.if it doesn't sell them chuck it into the dumpster. Some pickers would even carry boxes out to the dumpster to go threw them. Recycle metal goes in another pile since Dave does scrapping. I'd have yard full of stuff to sell or have to shoppers take it out of the house then Dave can price it outside for them. Win Win.
