Glad you didnt give up. taco, it might take some money but i would suggest you bypass the step totally. welding a permanent bypass piece in to cover entire open area would create an easy ramp forever.

Taco you really scored the day of this video! I totally get the feeling of "you dumb thing, you are not going to get the better of me!!!". That feeling is probably why we accomplish half the i credible things man kind does. And also why we have so many chiropractors!!! I kept thinking, "What a cool grill!" Cleaned up it would be awesome for entertaining and must have been really expensive new. I hope you take alot of that stuff to flea market because you can always scrap or lot sell odds and ends afterwards. With a lot of old tools there are simple clean up methods on line that you could do to them during the winter. Simple soaks that would add quite a bit of value. Maybe just a waste of time.
