Hey Lady Heart- i think it’s time to put a „no dollar tree“ item in your no-spend-challenge journal. The amount of decorational pieces take up so much of your hard-won space and time. You‘re still in the decluttering phase - you made room for your kids, for your marriage and for you guys as a family. Now it‘s time to make room for yourself. Please don’t fill up your corner with unfinished crafts that drag you down. Declutter those unfinished projects just like you declutter your stuff. you’ll never run out of creativity and ideas, there will be time for a plethora once you made real space and time for it ❤️❤️❤️
@Mar10la3 жыл бұрын
I would just donate the clothes and toys. It's a really generous thought to sell them and donate the profits, but I would focus on selling your own stuff because I think that is already a lot of stuff to handle. Good luck :)

@@ahoardersheart I was about to say the same. It is your passion to craft i know and i don't want to hold you back or make you feel bad about it. I had a similar problem with fabric. I held on to so much of it but in the end i have a limited amount of time to make the project come true and honestly most of the time it is a "i find a use for it" instead of "can i make something out of it that really does suit my style or as a present for others". I still have so many boxes of fabric and i always try to use it up but it will still take me some years from now. I don't doubt that you monitor yourself and maybe it is unnessesary for me to say this but maybe it helps to remind yourself additionaly what you already have of decoration stuff and try to work with this (i already saw you doing this). But i guess it maybe is a bit difficult for you at this point because the basement isn't fully sorted and decluttered yet and you don't have an overview. I guess this will take some time until you are up to this point.

If you ever want to donate arts, crafts, and toys call the Ronald McDonald House. They're usually located near hospitals. They are an amazing charity. They help families who have children who are getting medical treatments in hospitals. I would even call them and ask if they need anything and see if you have excess of those things that you would love to give the children as a gift. :) Sometimes they use it in the houses playroom for the families staying there and sometimes they have a cart that gets taken into the the hospital for the sick children. ❤️

I think it is super nice of you, to try to sell these things and give it to the womens shelter. But please think first if you have enough energy for that. You are working a lot these days and your family needs you too. If you can say, your family is in good balance and you have energy for that, do it! If not, drop it at good will and feel good about that too! It is also a good deed. Love from Germany

Foster care agencies or the county DSS office can make sure kid clothes, and adult clothes in small/medium sizes for teens, get to the kids. Many of them leave with just a garbage bag of whatever they can grab when they leave their home. I mean this to come from a place of care and love but it's a little bit worrying to see you have bought even more dollar store items and collected free stuff to use in diys and have them stored at work as well as home. I get that you have ideas for videos but you also have a million craft supplies and projects waiting at home to do. Just concerned it's adding extra things to the hoard. I hope you don't take it the wrong way, I'm exactly the same in that I can see the upcycle/craft potential in everything but never ever get round to it, partly because my craft supplies are as hoarded and unorganised as yours 🤣 partly because I'm being unrealistic with my time/energy. It makes me feel guilty and frustrated as I'd love to get round to those projects but realistically, I won't get to most of them in my lifetime, even if I was organised.. I've really had to be tough with myself and let some things go. Just worried you're adding to the 'never get round to' list when you already have so much at home to get sorted ❤️

One thing I learned over the years is that there are more things in this world that are beautiful than I will be able to see, more good and useful items thrown away than a whole village could use and more unfulfilled needs than I can fill. And as hard and frustrating that is - we only have 24 hours in a day and just enough energy for yourself and a little for giving away. Every item we have (also if it was free) is like a little puppy - it needs attention. If we have one or two, we will be able to handle it well. But if we want to rescue every lovely dog, cat and hamster in the whole animal shelter we will run out of money, space, time and energy.

Doesn't it make more sense to store the "crafting with only things from my hoarded house + dollar tree/freecycle" stuff at... your house? Where half of the supplies already live, and where your brain will more associate the things being there as "yours" rather than a "work thing"? Hoarder's Heart is your passion, not your job (although it is a job in itself), and certainly not your primary source of income. Storing (part of) your passion projects there, even with the possibility of it becoming your headquarters later, does it really make sense in the now? IDK. Also just seems like it could get out of hand quickly. Definitely limit yourself to those crates as far as free/dollar tree stuff so that it actually gets used for the content it's intended for before you get more, regardless of where you keep it 💜

@@ahoardersheart I think you should pack up your stuff at work and take it home..and with all the craft supplies at home it's really silly to be buying more..I bet you have alot of projects just waiting in that basement..don't add more that will never get done

Definitely sell the stuff and donate $$ to the shelter! Great idea!

Sell the things on the yard sale and donate the money to the shelter, the things that doesn't sell you can donate to Goodwill.

I would donate the clothes and toys. It’s too much work for you to take it all back to your house for a garage sale. Plus your new office will be even emptier for your new editing desk! 😘

Joining those who encouraged you to donate the items to Goodwill or a place accepting donations now.

Get rid of it… Get it to Goodwill right away no need for you to bring it in as inventory or a project you don’t have time for

Take to salvation army. They help people who go threw major things like a flood, fire and other hardships.

If you do a yard sale do that first if it is convenient so you have the option to donate the cash to shelters and any leftovers from the yard sale the clothes and toys can go to Goodwill.

I haven't used a swiffer or mop in forever. The steamer spoiled me.

😁 I have linoleum, tile and carpet though. I've heard you can't use it on certain flooring. 🤷♀️

Put the open sign, if it works, on Facebook marketplace! They are quite expensive and maybe someone will pick it up for their shop!

My advice is to donate the clothes.

Put the clothes and toys on your local free site on FaceBook I am sure there is someone in your community that can use them

Be good to see what it looks like once you take everything that’s going out away like the donations and beach stuff.

Oh, that’s a good idea!!! I don’t think I can record the beach stuff bc of the movers...but maybe Steve will let me film the finished tiki backyard set up!!

You may as well sell the items at your garage sale since you’re already planning to have one.

Great job 👏. Donate the toys and clothes to some other charity that is accepting donations right now, you have too much already for your yard sale.
