I actually gasped when I saw Voyage of the Damned omg, the Shakespeare book and Bonded by Thorns are aslo gorgeous, I feel like I would have bought them too! Remember if you're reading a book you really don't like, see no benfit in finishing, you can dnf too, I don't want these lower rated books to put you in a slump or anything

You know I'm a sucker for a pretty book! I think Voyage of the Damned is one of the recent Illumicrate picks I'm most excited for. I appreciate you saying that! Someone else mentioned giving myself a DNF out too, so I'm actually considering it. I'm just so bad at DNFs because I want to believe it will turn around. But I think there's potential to finesse how I think about DNFs for this challenge!

I read Gork years ago also because it was the lowest rated book on my shelves. I wont spoil my feelings on it so as not to influence your opinion.

This is SO interesting!🎉 Question: what about DNFs? I feel like you should get some points, at least 1, even if you didn't finish it, since you tried reading the book but realised you weren't having a good time.

That's a fair question. I wonder if I could do something with a minimum amount of pages read = a 1 if I need to DNF? Like it would give credit for getting through a chunk but not a lot. I'm SO bad at DNFing things though. I keep hoping it will get better.

@TheLitReviewForBooks in all honesty, I would give you the points for DNFing even if you were to DNF after 1 paragraph if it was enough to make you say you don't want to read it 😂Yeah, DNFing is hard! At some point you tell yourself "what if it gets better???" But most of the time the answer is "no, it doesn't" lol

@@KYX1994 Hahaha it really doesn't. Though I've had some books that I DNF'd but then returned to in a better headspace, those then to be more successful for me.
