Sweet baby Tay... While love is being able to handle someone's sadness, it does not mean you need to be sad all the time together. The greatest love will lead you out of the gray sadness, not constantly drag you down into it (with the exception of clinical depression). I feel like that line was very Joe coded, but I hope she's having more blue skies than gray one's with Travis now. 😊

To be fair, I think Joe does have depression and that's what she's referring to with "blue" in so m any songs about him. Also I think its a lot of people with mental illness biggest fear that no one will love them or stick it out through their blue days so this is a confirmation type love song
