this short course is based on the good old hyper 9e buggy. good buggy with some weak points : small 14x8x4 ball bearings, long steel center shaft ( be careful not to bend it in a crash ) . there has never been a hyper 9 truggy !

the little strange thing is for the lap counter yep ;) and the senton is a 1/8 buggy used in 1/10skill sc this is like teh team asso sc8.2 a real 1/8 skil sc :) you will love it :)

many's rcgarage 68 Exactly what i was hoping to hear! The original AE SC8e (with the mamba monster system) was the truck that got me into electric! It will always be one of my favorites! I retired my SC8e a few years ago after i rebuilt it.. photos.app.goo.gl/pCZJdjm4pXi2xhyP2 (picture of my baby) so she's become a shelf-queen so I'm gonna pick this one up with high hopes.. I think I'm gonna get the 80% version and throw in a MMX w/2200kv motor

yeah yo will not be desapointed this truck is tuff ! (but body and roll cage from the sc8 is unbeatable ! :) ) i hade teh sc8 and sc8.2 hop thay will make a new from the b8.4 !!

the chassis is a stretch ofna hyper 9e everything but the shock tower is exactly the same// i got one about 4 years ago everything is really solid on it.

IS that Truck still in produce? I would like to buy something bigger and better than wltoys or Feiyue Chinese mini scales. I consider to buy Traxxas Hoss, Rustler 4x4 or Slash 4x4, but after watching Hobao sc8 and sc10 cars, I started to like Hobao. Hobao sc8 and sc10 seem to have strong solid chassis and suspension. However if Hobao has discontinued both models, there is no use to buy that car because then finding spare parts will be impossible.

Yes, they use 17mm hexes, so should fit fine.

Can I install tires of Hobao Hyper 10 SC (ref 11035) on the rims of Hobao Hyper 8 SC (ref 89816), is the tire size compatible with rim of the 1/8 model ?

Yes, the wheels are the same size, just the hole in the middle is different.

Hi guys as a first time RC buyer would you recommend the slash 2WD and upgrade as I learn to brushless. Plenty of parts avail and I've heard reliable. Do they beat HPI short course trucks? Thanks

I repair 2wd Slashes more than any other truck, so I would use caution if you go down that road. The HPI Blitz is a lot better and so is the Losi. But if you're prepared to put money into it and upgrade it as you go, then the Slash is a good one to get.

Hi Vas, thank you for an awesome review. 2 questions for this truck. 1. Can you fit the standard Proline 3.8 pre-mounted Badlands? 2. What other body shells can fit this truck? Because it's not a standard SCT size. I only found the old Team Associated SC8 body shell that could potentially fit this truck. Thanks again Vas.

Yes, you can fit 3.8" badlands, although you'll have to hack the body to make them fit. Not many bodies out there that would fit this truck, so I guess the SC8 would be about the closest.

Hpi Apache sc body should fit well also. King motor produce Apache clones as do a couple of other companies. The king motor 1/7 rally bodies could be made to fit as well seeing as they are based off the Apache clones. Hope this helps.
