One thing I will say about 1/8 ofna, hobao, hong nor brands. The diff gears are built right, I've never broke one on par with tekno. I would go through my Arrma 6s Diff gears about every 50 runs. Be curious how everything holds up after a few big bash sessions. Great video like always.

The diffs probably only have a little grease in them. My MT plus is a blast at the skatepark. I enjoy it more than the kraton sometime. Throw on a set of backflips and it's a different truck. I moved my rear shocks out at the top to prevent the rear slamming so hard.

some new tires would help this truck a lot

Razor I wish you would review a Cen Reeper at some point. It's a beast. It's a 1/7th scale monster truck. I switched out the hexes to 24mm and put on the 8s outcast backflips and the thing is a beast. It's the only reason I've never got one of these hobaos yet.
@RazorRC2 жыл бұрын
yeah, a friend of mine has one and I've driven it a few times, seems pretty tough. he usually breaks all his cars and I think he only had the electronics fall out or something.
@cwatson427852 жыл бұрын
@@RazorRC Yeah I've been really impressed with it for sure. I like these tvp style trucks. Don't have to worry about chassis bending and also doesn't collect and store as much dirt and debris

Nice run chassis looks good seems you where holding back a little ? Normally you send it off the rip but seeing a shock break ? Wonder how it will hold up & now traxxas dropped a bomb with a 8s Kraton competitor hmm $1000.00 for the XRT maybe this is a better buy ?
@RazorRC2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I usually take it a little easy the first time out, but I was getting hardly any traction and the steering was bad, so I couldn’t really get the power down properly half the time. Needs a little tuning and then I think it will drive a lot better.

@@RazorRC aw, bummer. Do you feel like the shocks bottom out before the chassis hits the ground? I watched a travel demonstration on another channel, and it looks like it takes quite a bit of force for the chassis to bottom out. Possibly putting undue stress on the suspension components?

Gear mesh sounds choppy but that could be cuz they are mod 1 or 8. Miss my hyper tt. Everyone complained about diff problems but I never had any issues. I believe they are machined and beveled. I think it has a lot to do with the driver.

got some pretty big air and backflips in, was a little surprised the shock shaft broke, but oh well.

@@RazorRC Indeed, considering how beefy the chassis is I definitely expected the shock shafts themselves to be able to withstand the impacts. Sadly not though. Are you planning on going aftermarket for the shocks or just giving the OEM ones a 2nd chance?

That looks alot like the Hobao Hyper Sport Plus same big tires. It's big a pos. Weak diffs, pot metal spur, good luck finding a new one when the spur gear explodesI hope it's built way better than the sport plus is.
