I don't get this. As I understand it, the reason this is going ahead is so Tassie can have it's own AFL team. We have been hosting AFL matches for a few years now, as far as I'm aware the existing stadiums in Launceston and Hobart have done an amiable job of allowing these guys to kick their funny-shaped balls through the big sticks so why exactly do we need another stadium and why is this more important than all the tents popping up around the place because people can't afford rent or can't find a place to live?

What about the Housing crisis Mr Rockcliff. In Western Australia the Government Labour of the day also built Optus Stadium in Perth in order to pay the continuing ballooning Cost they in there wisdom went ahead and sold off prime public housing assets to pay for it. Look out Tasmania

looking forward to the urban development and the multi-purpose stadium to hold concerts and assembly and soccer game will be great having the cafes and restaurants and the new stadium, which is easy to access and hopefully has night game and great corporate facilities, which is desperately need as belerive doesn't have and need it to support all sports at this multi purpose stadium

I really don't think they have a clue. Tasmania further sinking down into the economic abyss . Developing north east rail trail Launceston to Scottsdale with cafe bistro at Lebrina and recreational hub at Denison Gorge would benifit locals and visitors bring regional benifit.

How many Tasmania AFL players are there really? As compared to the ones that come out of the N.T? Tasmania doesnt need an AFL home based Team, the Northern Territory does.

I'm all for a 20th team based in Darwin.....but the problem is the low population. They would probably have to be a Northern Australian team that also represents and plays games in Northern Queensland.
