@@JMac85X how did you know I’m in a fellowship? Yeah here they send everyone to Troy Ohio on a few different occasions but since I’m in school I won’t be going for Awhile yea here they won’t really hire you with no experience with tools unless you go through the fellowship, for instance it’s a guy who started a lil after me he had no experience in this field but had some Mechanic experience which has absolutely nothing to do with our trade but they hired him sent him to the class that was a week and he failed but they didn’t hire him there going to send him back , so he can’t go on calls alone

@@andrewgarfield9898 the pay is a joke. Do anything but work for Hobart. You bring them $260,000 dollars a year for a teachers salary.

@@FunGuyFruits You are exactly right! And they say they dont like parts changers. But those are the people they keep. If you can diagnose the equipment and actually replace only what is needed then you will not be #1 in the Tech numbers.

Spend a few years here to get the training and the experience. Then go somewhere else that pays much, much better.

What’s the pay here?
@Baddeye2 жыл бұрын
@@andrewgarfield9898 it's been over 20 years since I was a service tech for Hobart and a lot may have changed over the years. At the time my pay was substantially lower than the competition which they believed to be justified by the uniforms, tools, service vehicle, and training they provided. Unfortunately when ITW took over the belt was significantly tightened, branch offices were closed, and good people laid off. This forced the remaining techs into a lot of overtime and overnight travel. I owe a lot to the knowledge I gained by their factory training in Troy, OH when I was younger. But they just weren't willing to even match the paycheck (and benefits) offered to me by another company.

@@Baddeye how much exactly were you getting paid an hour? Everyone always says the pay here sucks but no one ever says what it actually is. Is it minimum wage low? Like 15?
@Baddeye2 жыл бұрын
@@andrewgarfield9898 remember this was back in 2000, but at the time after working there almost 6 years I was making only about $13/hr when I quit. I moved to the maintenance dept for one of our customers making over $20/hr. I'm sure these days wages are higher though I couldn't say how much.
