Nice test! Excellent penetration, although it might actually be more if shot from further due to the ‘hollow point.’ This 68-bthp is extremely accurate in my 20” A4 at 50-400 yards (1:9 twist), so it was good to see it performed well in gel.

Wouldn’t it be a little better out of 1:8 twist? Reason I ask is I’m about to buy a 16” 1:8 barrel and muzzle brake

Well, couldn’t hurt. I like the idea of 1:8, plus the 77’s might do Ok.@@kylespirk306

Good video dude! Straight to the point nasty wound channel for sure try to pick this stuff up when I can find it hard to come by in my area sometimes I picked up 5 boxes today in my humble opinion very good defense round gonna give the shitbag on the receiving end a very bad day

@@MrLedFarmer0331 like I said I buy it up when I can find it because it is hard to find around me why I'm not sure seems to be a very good round and that wound channel was nasty which is exactly what you😎

I bet the 75 grain offering would get slightly better penetration. But a little less fragmentation.

The 75gr bthp and 73gr eld match both have a very similar looking permanent wound channel as in this video.

First, nice KP15 lower. Second, this 68 grain Frontier is ridiculously accurate from my barrel. I zeroed it at only 50 yards but every shot was touching one another with just a red dot and 3x magnifier. I've never had ammo that accurate without more magnification. I use a Faxon 16 inch pencil barrel.

Sounds like you have a nice light weight set up! You are also the second person who has commented on the accuracy and I have to say, I agree 100%.

My mid-profile free float FN CHF 1:7 barrel w/8X LPVO consistently shoots 1.25" groups at 100yds, while 75gr shoots 1" (with the 5.56 version)

Id love to see sierra 69s and 77s with cannalure..I also got a bunch of 70 grain copper monolithics I've loaded up,they were midway factory seconds and they didn't come from barnes.i also bought a box of 70 gr tsx and they had obvious differences..I got nosler 64 gr bonded also from midway(factory 2nds) there's a huge world of 224 projectiles id love to see shot in some gel.. keep up the good work.

This ammo is extremely accurate out of my 16 inch. 223 Wylde. But I had no idea about how effective it is. This is an excellent demonstration. How far away were you? Anyway. Thanks, this ammo will get the job done for sure!

This looks like the tests of the 60gr Winchester PDX1 223 that you can't find anywhere anymore, but it's more energy with about the same penetration. Budget friendly defense load that's more reliable than M193?
@MrLedFarmer0331
@MrLedFarmer0331 Ай бұрын
I don't know about the reliability as compared to the M193 but I can say I've never had a malfunction and the hollow point is not so huge like some hollow points and varmint rounds that cause problems with feeding :)

@@MrLedFarmer0331 I'm going off of the field reports that lead to the development of M855, followed by the OTM loads like M262 and Mk 318. The original ball rounds weren't fragmenting reliably, which for a defense load is very concerning. I would prefer to never have to use it, but I only get 49% of the vote on that, so I need to know that it's going to fragment and dump down to less than lethal energy if I have to. That's what I meant by reliability, my experience with M193 as a target load is that unless there's something wrong with the rifle or the magazine it always cycles.
@MrLedFarmer0331
@MrLedFarmer0331 Ай бұрын
@@kentyannayon3741 I get you now =) reliable performance inside the target. I would say that in this way, I can be certain this ammo would be more reliable than M193!

Thats looks lethal. I dont like mono's. I dont like them in my .308 or my .223. Ive shot 5 deer at abt 100 yards off of my porch table with 223. I shot 2 with gmx. One was behind the shoulder and she ran 100 yards down hill with no blood and a pencil exit wound. I like the lead tips.👍

IDK but Hornady makes a dandy 75gr Match bullet that hunters use for whitetails, pigs & coyotes including me. The 68 would make a little flatter shooting coyote round.@@MrLedFarmer0331
