The cedar balls are to protect your yarn like a mothball, it's a natural bug deterrent, they're also made of camphor wood The advent calendar is a lovely idea and I appreciated seeing what came in the sacks. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make in the lead-up to Christmas

Almost certainly what the cedar balls are for but also folks should be cautious about using them and other deterrent products with oil in them. The oils in cedar can easily transfer to the yarn of your projects and cause damage. Make sure y'all keep a barrier/distance between your cedar and your beautiful projects

I just got mine a few days ago and of course I opened it!! I'm so pleased with this advent. Actually it is my first crochet advent calendar. I've tried the friends cotton and friends cotton silk and I am so looking forward to use them again but also use the other yarn that I was thinking to buy them myself. And I like that it is not the classic Christmas colors

I quite like the lack of winter colours as Christmas is in summer in Australia haha! Don't get me wrong, a lot of stores will still sell winter-y themed Christmas merchandise, but I find it kind of funny seeing people in shirts with snow/winter prints when we're realistically all sweating in the heat 😂

I'm surprised it came so quick. Thank you for sharing the unboxing. I saw on the website that Toni Lipsey was the designer for the advent calendar and it showed an outline of each week's project. Only 1 of the projects intrigued me - I think it was week 2. But the yarn is the real draw here. And the stitch markers. I used last year's stitch markers as earrings for a day. It worked and they were cute 😊

My friend told me about the Advent Calendar and he asked if I wanted one. It would have been nice to get it as I am not familiar with any of them - they certainly seem to have improved from the year when "everyone was up in arms about the high price and poor quality/cheap yarn - but I cannot justify it as I am drowning in yarn already!

Loved your unboxing, too bad the exchange rate to AUD is so poor. Those wooden balls don’t go in the wash, they are to put in your drawers or wardrobe to keep away the moths and silverfish.
