Hobbit Beach: Covered Forest Hike to a Quiet Beach, Oregon

Hobbit Beach and Hobbit Beach Trail sit right between Heceta Lighthouse and Carl G Washburne. There is a short and beautiful hike through a coastal forest until hitting the beach. Part of the hike is covered in bushes so it looks like a hobbit hole. Parking can get very crowded on a nice day so try to get there early or on a weekday.

My mom used to take me through the Hobbit Trails when I was little, back when it was almost 100% covered pass trails, and they ran unmarked everywhere. If you didn't watch your step, you would turn a "tunnel" bend and fall right down a ledge. The vegetation isn't half as dense as it used to be when it was still wild and uncut trail. Thanks for the video, brings back memories of childhood and outdoor school.
