Great tips! I also built models (45-50 years ago) and just recently got back into it. Life got in the way and now life is much slower for me, so I have time now. I've been purchasing everything I think I will need so I'm at the point where I'm ready for my projects to start. I like making mini wooden dollhouses, plastic kits (ships, armor, vehicles, etc...), as well as metal models (Piececool, Metal Earth) and diecast kits (Agora, Fanhome). I ended up with an extensive collection of useful tools so I'm always interested in finding new ways to organize. Thanks! Eric

Well thought out tips here.. any tips for getting the get -up-and -go to actually tidy up ?

Thank you . I always think how can I make my hobby easier to enjoy and create so I constantly organize and prepare. Yesterday I just mixed more base coats ( mr. Surfacer) so I wouldn't have an excuse to not paint. Start with organizing a small area that bugs you and believe me that will inspire you to organize the rest of it. To clear the decks and to get ready for action that is our hobby. Hope that helps, Rick.

Hello Rick, I’ve been working with Milliput (similar to Tamiya Putty) for 40 years and the tip to have prepared pieces in plastic containers ..well…how come I never thought of that !! But I wish I had !! I’ve always disliked going into the messy tubes and tearing equal bits off as one part of the Milliput can turn extremely hard and tough to get going. It’s the obvious answer but we need someone such as yourself to point us in the right direction. Thanx ! I have similar drawers to yours. In one drawer I keep a big number of small pieces of assorted abrasive papers etc (about 2”x3” ) all various grits from very rough down to flour paper. I cut the pieces from fresh sheets and they do come in quite handy particulaly when cleaning mouldings. It’s very handy rather than tearing /cutting big sheets when you need them etc. Maybe you could add this small tip to one of your videos ? (Although you might already do this ?)

nice video! The start stop family part mirrors my time in the hobby. Agree with what you said. I love to see someone doing ww 2 british and soviet stuff also. Looking for suggestions on a 1942-43 T 34. A good one. Any thoughts.? Thanks man

Thanks John, i appreciate your kind comments. I think many of us are in the same boat with our families and how are hobbies fit in. I have always been a big fan of the T34/76 , i think you would enjoy it very much with the added frontal armor and added turret armor. This became necessary when the Tiger tank made its debut. Until the T34/85 became available they had to make due with what they already had. I'll make it my next video since i already have one built out. Thanks, Rick

Very cool ideas! Didn't even think to cover my q-tips (cotton buds) to keep dust off of them, they're just stuck in a pencil holder rack I got from Dollar Tree. Question : where did you get those metal, 4 drawer boxes? 👍
@Ricksarmoredmodels85392 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much sir! I got the metal drawer boxes at a street fair in Lodi California. They sell them on ebay but they can be expensive because of shipping cost regarding weight. Yeah all the sanding we do with models the dust gets everywhere.

@@Ricksarmoredmodels8539 I'll keep my eyes open for racks in my area. Yes, sanding does bring a lot of dust. I'm looking into a dust collector used for nail care (or building a small down draft table). 👍
