Great video. Is there a way to keep it on the table without taping it on the desk ? I'm afraid it could damage the desk.

Hey there! Great question! There is a hole in the bottom that's threaded. You might be able to mount it someway using that, but I don't think that's a product offered by hobby Mio. One thing you can do is simply hold the unit down while using it. Or maybe experiment with varying amounts of poster putty. Hope this helps and wish you the best of luck!

My expectation was back and forth movement. Turns out it also move up-and-down at the same time. Quite random but seems works well. Question: does it suit for unthinned lacquer paint that quite thick? i.e. mr hobby's, tamiya, gaia notes Still contemplating what should I do if there's a paint separation on my paint bottle. Shaking motion (in similar manner to this tool) or stirring motion. Thanks!

Hey dude! Great question! I'm kicking myself for not including it, but I cut it out for brevity in an attempt to keep the video concise. I had a jar of Tamiya that's been on my shelf for a year. It was completely separated, but after about a minute, it was fully mixed. As for the mixing motion, I would say it's a circular motion that's perpendicular to the length of the mixing unit. Not so random, and definitely stronger than doing it by hand. I run my AOK paints through it for a minute before thinning it out and those paints are SUPER thick. Hope this answers your question. If you want to see the video of the Tamiya paint mix, message me on Instagram and I can send you the raw video. 😁

I just got mine this weekend. I found it on the internet but bought it because of this review. I had to by it directly from Malaysia as they were sold out everywhere I looked in the US. I am a Cerakote applicator and if you're familiar with that stuff it separates and will cake up at the bottom of the bottle. It's very difficult to get it to thoroughly mix after that and takes a LOT of vigorous shaking and using a paint stick to get the settled pigment off of the bottom. I took the most separated jar of Kote that I had and put it in this little machine and within 45 seconds it was thoroughly mixed. I was amazed. I am going to order 2 more one to have when i am coating and another as back up just in case. It works extremely well.

Hey Sam! I'm so glad it's worked out well for you. Unfortunately, the only authorized importer for the US has been spotty as of late which is why it's sold out everywhere. I'm glad your were able to find a reputable dealer to get one, but hopefully we can get more soon. Glad it's worked out well for you and hope it continues to serve you well. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I truly appreciate the support. 😁

Cool video. Have you tried it with the instar acrylics, thats the smallest bottles i know if, i think its 10ml. I was wondering if that would be to small
@PlamoTherapist
@PlamoTherapist 2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I haven't tried it, but you gave me an idea. I bet if it was too small, we could wrap a towel or paper towel around it to insulate it enough to be secured properly and it'll still mix properly? What do you think? 😆

@@PlamoTherapist that would probely work fine, even some thick rubber bands around the bottle before you put them in the machine

That's the spirit! I think there's no small limit because they can be insulated, but there's definitely a limit on the large size. 😆

How does it handle Tamiya & Mr Hobby bottles since they’re screw tops and not as tall as ones with squeeze tops? Also, how old of paint is it able to handle? I have some that are a year old and I’d love to be able to use them again.

Hey Mecha-Nick! Great question! I didn't include this in the video because I didn't want it to to on too long, but I had an old jar of Tamiya that was about a year old, and mixed it back up just fine! The only issue is that the Mr. Hobby Primer Jars are just too fat for the mixer, but the regular paint jars fit no problem!

....Of course it's VHB tape included. That stuff (if genuine 3M) sticks like nobody's business. Looks like a nice mixer, I wonder how it compares to vortex mixers, especially for vibration and overall noise.
@PlamoTherapist
@PlamoTherapist 2 жыл бұрын
Ooh. Good to know! This stuff is SUPER strong and ends up shaking my table as much as the paint. 🤣 The mixer itself is rather quiet. It's really the vibration of the things on my desk that it make it seem louder. The bigger the paint container, the louder and stronger the vibrations. It never gets louder than my spray booth, so there's a plus in my book.
@Rob_Teh_Builder
@Rob_Teh_Builder 2 жыл бұрын
How loud is it? Would you upload a short vid to IG? 😁
@PlamoTherapist
@PlamoTherapist 2 жыл бұрын
ARGGHhh! I cut this part from the video because I didn't have a concrete way of measuring it 🤣, but it depends on a few things; sturdiness of the table, sturdiness of things ON the table, and the size of the bottle. Smaller bottles have an easier time mixing and make less noise than larger bottles like the Kaizo, but even with the larger bottle, I would say it's louder than my compressor, but quieter than my spray booth fan. I hope that helps!

You should put your thinner used to clean your brush in another paint bottle. Its way faster and cheaper than using those pipettes.
@PlamoTherapist
@PlamoTherapist 2 жыл бұрын
Hey, that's a great idea! I can see it being a more cost effective alternative if you don't already have 200 like I do. 😆😆😆 One of the reason I use the pippettes is that I can use it to pump the thinner in and out of the cup to help clean it out better. I also reuse the pippette until they break (or I drop it in the can 🤣) because they stay clean being a dedicated thinner pippette. Maybe people can grab a few for more specific uses, but separating out a dedicated thinner bottle is a great idea! 😁
