Never tell me the odds! Haha Really puts things into perspective once you break it down. One failure could be a mistake. Two seems like it’s not going to be real. Thanks for sharing the info Brian!

Exactly! I know this stuff isn’t exactly rocket science, but I’m not sure how many others think this way about this kind of stuff. Thanks for watching, Joe!

I think there is also a stance within the authentication companies to reduce the amount of false positives. I fully support that, reject any that may be suspicious but potentially authentic at the cost of not letting illegitimate autos through.

This is a VERY strong point, Allen! As it is only an opinion, the wording is very carefully constructed to where they say something to the effect of “questionable authenticity” or “cannot be authenticated”. They never back themselves into a corner by coming right out and saying “FAKE!” 😂

Good video! I usually compare to authenticated autographs before sending them in, which should improve my chances. I know JSA was the first company to know what Kirby Pucketts ghost signer signature looked like, after many were authenticated by the big 3. There are quite a few certified that are not Kirby, from 10 plus years ago.

This is great to know! Puckett is a guy that’s on my radar, as I’m looking for a signed playing days Diamond Kings card of him, but I refuse to buy one that’s uncertified. Now, I will try to either narrow my search to either JSA, or a more recent PSA or BGS version. Puckett isn’t cheap, though, which also gives me pause. Thanks for the info, Stuke!

Thanks ‘HighPop’. Interesting video. I can relate to your comments because I’ve had some autographed cards not pass authentication which should have. I have one card in particular which was signed by both Barry Bonds and Will Clark which was not authenticated by two professional graders. I’m now questioning whether or not to send the card to a third grader for authentication. Will I take that chance to strike out or go for the glory? Ummm. I need to give this some additional thought. Dad

I remember the card you’re taking about! ‘93 Stadium club, I think. The Clark looks right, and the Bonds doesn’t look too bad either. My concern was with the shape of the B towards the middle / bottom. Something about the shape and flow of that area looks a little unnatural. I didn’t get into the “quick opinion” vs normal authentication process during this video, but it makes sense that with the actual item in hand, their authentication accuracy should increase significantly. I feel like sometimes they’re a bit “fail happy” with their quick opinions - Both Beckett and PSA/DNA. Thanks for watching, Dad!
