I use a wet brush when hand brushing the Vallejo paint. 😁 so, yeah it kinda looks thick at first but that's because of the water. Since it has "self levelling no jutsu", it would be okay once it dries. 😁

I think for whichever paint you use it it good to have a mask. But, especially for industrial paints you definitely would need a respirator mask with a facility with fans and ventilation since it has much stronger toxic chemicals in much higher concentration, you would need something similar to a vehicle spray booth and same PPE gear of an automotive painter.

I need clarification on Bosny topcoats.. Is "clear" bosny similar to semi-gloss? Is "flat clear" bosny similar to matt? Im planning on doing weathering detail on my kits and put flat clear after the decals then do a clear finish after weathering.

Btw, for candy coating, it helps to apply gloss black under your metallic color of choice (whether it be silver, chrome, etc.), and if you're sticking with Bosny, they offer colors meant for candy coating, look into their Honda and Yamaha named paints, like #01 or #67 Honda Red rather than the Signal Red you were using!

It's technically possible to complete a candy finish on a spoon if you increase the distance between your aerosol spray and the spoon by almost "misting' the spoon.

I used a red bosny spray paint topped with a black tamiya acrylic on my HG Try Burning's *THICC* thigh armor years back. Watching this one gave me more ideas. I'm curious. You say not to paint lacquer over acrylic but I saw a Bosny flat clear in the video. Did you use it when you were done? Yes, I have. I sprayed Bosny flat clear when the paint was fully cured. Though the acrylics I used were Vallejos. Vallejos are really durable once they're fully cured. Bosny says lacquer acrylic -_- I'm confused too. LOL but to be safe, I treat it as lacquer.

The Vallejo pure black was painted with wet brush. So, water adds to the seemingly thickness of the paint. Once it dries, it's actually okay. 😁 Yes, I actually attached the alligator clips to most of the pegs so they would be covered and would still fit once I re-attach the parts. 😁 thanks, man!

I've done it with my HG Grimgerde fully painted with Vallejo. I applied Bosny Flat clear over it and it was fine 😁 just make sure the paint is fully cured (1- 2 days just to be safe) before applying Bosny since it's lacquer

Nice brushwork, and a very nice top paint type layer chart at the end :) I didn't think that much of the silver candy look showed through that red though. Still looked great, just didn't seem to be the effect you were trying to achieve.

It really depends. If you want to go for a glossy top coat, you can go for the Bosny Clear. Personally, I go for at least 2 coats but you have to be careful since these spray cans can spray heavy amounts.

Thanks, man! I'm glad I could help! Yung RG Unicorn ko topcoated with Bosny Flat clear buhay pa till now. I have posed it a few times now but it isn't brittle. I haven't used Hiro paints and I was planning to. However, since I love posing my painted kits, I noticed that Acrylics can be easily chipped and damaged and I know Hiro is a water based Acrylic paint. I'm switching to pure Lacquer paints due to its toughness. Lacquer is the toughest type of paint.

Yes, as long as you follow the layer recommendation: Lacquer > Enamel > Acrylic Acrylic is the weakest paint so it has to be over enamel or lacquer. Bosny is Lacquer.

Oh, you have to decant the cans properly. I'm sure you can use these on airbrushes I'm just not an expert though :/

Heeey bro! Good to know that you're getting into the hobby 😁 I got my Vallejo paints from Neutral Grounds 😁 they accept online orders and they can deliver the paints straight to your home. As for Bosny, you have to make sure that the Vallejo paints are fully cured after more than 24 hours. I have and HGIBO Grimgerde coated with Bosny Flat and it's still fine. :)

@@metaltriops5957 if you want to use these spray cans for basic painting, you apply the primer then the primary color that you want 😁 that's what I do. Though, it's a different process if you use an airbrush. Airflow and paint is controlled. Thus, you can put multiple layers of paint to achieve the output that you want. Ex. My method for for candy tone painting: Primer > gloss black > chrome paint/silver > clear color > gloss coat. Not sure if uou can do that using spray cans since the airflow and paint can't be easily controlled 😅

You should really invest in an airbrush. Your paint application looks super thick. Airbrushing Wil make the kit look smoother, cleaner and more realistic, less like a painted toy.

Just a dab of wet paint brush will do. Vallejo has self levelling technology. But it's recommended to also have at least 1 drop of vallejo thinner 😁

I also want to start customizing my Gunpla and I found your video the most informative out of all the Gunpla painting guides, I'm now weighing between handpainting because I can thin the paint or using a spray can because the result doesn't seem as messy as with handpainting.
