Looking good I’m working on a custom grand hauler myself I strichted my frame to 34’’ just haven’t decide on paint yet but I did get a TAMIYA refer trailer for it to haul. You are the one that got me interested in building this thank you I’m 64 years old and I am enjoying it

I Love it! I would add additional deck loading lights next to the winch, & possibly side marker lights on deck. That is a really nice deck bed.

Great looking truck, very realistic body operation, love the front bumper.😅

Great video Bob! Thank you for posting! My suggestion to help make the winch mounting go a little easier is to use steel socket head bolts and a magnetic ball end Allen wrench. That eliminates the need for tweezers to get the bolts into the mounting holes. It's also a little easier if you slide the deck back a little with the actuator. Also when mounting the deck it might be slightly easier to remove the mounting plates from the deck by removing the two stainless step bolts then mount the plates to the truck chassis along with the bumper and mudflaps first. Then when you mount the deck there are only the two step bolts to put in rather than the 6 smaller ones that hold the plates to the frame. Hope this helps!

Hey Reg! Love your decks. Actually mounting the deck is easy but that winch is a bugger any way you look at it! However the results are amazing. Your products are top notch!!

@@HobbyconceptsLLC Thanks for the kind words Bob! Yes I’ll definitely admit that the winch is a pain in the you know what to get mounted up! Good thing it only has to happen once.lol I tell everyone that buys a deck to be prepared to be a little frustrated but only for a 4 bolts.lol I appreciate your support with these how to videos! It really helps me out as I’m not the best at making these type of videos and it’s nice to point a customer to something this informative. It’s also nice to see some information on the lighting as that is not something I have much knowledge of. Much appreciated!

As allways Bob, an Awesome build! And thanks for those american style aluminium rims you mentioned in your previous video, Yes i finally found them and they are awesome, they need a bit of work to shine but why not, and now i have two sets of them. Thank you!

I have one of those actuators on my dump truck and just run it off the receiver, I never thought to run it off a speed control. I will look into getting one of those Beier units for the winch on my wife's crawler as the wireless controller is pretty much worthless. Truck turned out awesome, the gun metal grill and visor really make the orange stand out.
@RCP5711 ай бұрын
There are two different types of actuators. One is the R model which runs off of the receiver and these are S models which require and esc.

Hey Bob when are you going to build a tamiya heavy wrecker?
@AndyPorter796 ай бұрын
Now you need D-rings and lashings for the deck. Aliexpress has them. In real life they use a bungie cord for wires like your winch power where it has to be able to bend and move. The bungie takes out the slack when it's loose and stretches when the line is taught. You see this on air lines for transports.

Quick question do you / would you take a special order for a custom truck to be built and programmed ? Or do you not take customer orders. Thank you very much love your videos!

Great build! The only question I was left with, was where did you manage to tuck your battery into? Seems like the battery you have to use is quite small, as there is not much room for one?
