The last song (My sea) is the song Hyunjin recommend to Seungmin when SM asked for a song to sing on the show. Hyunjin really really want to hear the song under Seungmin voice. When Seungmin texted him that the show aired Hj was on the street and panic tf out then listened to it in audio only on street and then again watch the whole show when he got home. And of course after that he did a compliment rain on Seungmin :)))

I'm really glad Seungmin got the opportunity to do this, really. As you said, most vocalists in kpop groups are never able to show what they're capable of in that group setting, so it's always great to see. Also some information, you might wanna know is that Seungmin (and I.N now too ) share a vocal coach with Baekhyun currently (voicetuning I believe). It's funny cause Seungmin has been making remarks about JYP's style of singing that seemed shady lmao, he must've not liked the way he was being taught how to sing at his company and now goes to another place to learn😭.

Seungmin honestly has one of my favourite voices. I saw this tweet that said being a singer isn’t just being able to belt notes but to make your audience feel the emotions and if that isn’t Seungmin I don’t know what is. He has an amazing ability of making you feel emotions through his voice, whether it’s happy or sad. The fact that he worked so hard to be able to achieve this makes it that much more special.

His warm voice really catch my heart everytime More than that, knowing that this is the result of hours /days /years of practicing nonstop, he has all my respect. Seungmin has been going to vocal class 3-4 times a week in 3 years in order to fix a lot of his bad habits in singing and improve his sound. He said his voice is thinner in the beginning but through many years of practicing, he can make the voice sound richer and can hit the high notes that he want more easier. He rarely eats or drink anything that can affect his throat when the comeback come and even turn off AC and sleep with humidifier to prepare the best condition to sing live on stage with no problem AND I KNOW YOU GONNA LIKE THIS FUNFACT. SEUNGMIN'S VOCAL COACH IS BAEKHYUN'S TOO 🤣🤣 this must be destiny

Seungmin's voice and choice of notes and everything just sounds like he's really telling a story.😭😭😭 He really worked his (redacted) off to get where he is professionally, some people at first didnt believe he could be the main vocalist and he proved them wrong

i’m crying with you haha. i’m also a casual singer (i’m still learning) but seungmin’s range is so amazing. every time i hear him sing especially his falsettos i start crying. his switches from his head and chest voice is so effortless and so amazing. his vibrato is beautiful and he uses it beautifully. his breath techniques are really good too. his emotions throughout all the songs are so beautiful and very convincing. i heard the strain too but i don’t think it’s noticeable. i agree, sitting down and singing like that is so hard, just sitting down and singing is hard in general haha at least for me. i also always cry when people sing beautifully. i love hearing people sing especially if they sing really well.

This is the second time that Seungmin covered an IU song and did it so flawlessly that he got a shoutout from her on social media (the Kingdom 'Mayfly' cover of "Love Poem" being the first). Hyunjin asked him to sing this song, and he did so gladly, and just amazingly. I will never not be awed by his talent. I love him so much! Now we just need an actual duet with IU and that would totally be the cherry on top!

There are many great male singers in kpop with great technique. What separates the good from the great are two things, in my opinion 1) distinct color of the voice and 2) the ability to deliver emotion and tell a story through your voice. Seungmin has both of those and the technique. All he needs are opportunities to show what he practices all the time.

You should listen his SKZ-reconds (well all of SKZ records actually), but since he is obviously your bias you will LOVE IT. I recomend "3108", it's cover but it's SOOOOOO GOOOOD. It's so true that for K pop idols that are very good singers , it's really hard to really show off their pure vocals with the performance format that idols have ...
