HobbyWing Programming Card Hack: The Old Brushed - Brushless Switcheroo

So I went to use my HobbyWing programming card to take some brake force out of my new MAX10 ESCs only to find that I had a "brushed" version programming card. In this video I show you how I got out of purchasing the second... VERY SIMILAR... DARE I SAY, EXACT SAME CARD AS THE ONE I ALREADY POSESS... Do not do what I do in this video however... it was very stupid and could've broke my sexy new ESCs... could've.

Brian, that is officially MAD GENIUS!!! 🏆😁 I can easily see how that works, without THAT much risk (but a LOT of cross referencing). Believe ME - I understand the value of saving $16! Many people today won't... I may have both Hobbywing Brushed and Brushless Motors and Programming Cards..... But I've only got one Brushless Card. Hey Car, really loving your great comment.! Still dying over here.! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 My crazy cross referencing seemed endless at times. I actually shot the video twice. You may have notices the changes in the video midway through. Subtle but there...LOL. It made for another great blooper for my collection. None of my button presses were corresponding to what I was saying for three minutes of filming.! 😂 it was hilarious.! I am very excited to get this car out on the road this morning. I am testing not only the brake force, but the initial punch as well. Stock this was set at 75%. I set it to the lowest(25%) for the speed runs. But as soon as this speed run sessions are over, I plan to set this at 100% so I can perform some super dirty burnouts.! Thanks Car.!

I always thought the cards just had a different label but the same unit. Cheaper for Hobbywing to just produce a new label.

Here's the REALLY crazy part... u just found a Dynamite brand programming card that is identical to these other two. This one is made for Dynamite ESCs. It also looks like it would work for these Hobbywing ESCs as well. That would be pretty crazy cross platform action right there.! Thanks for the great comment my brother.!

That's kinda how it happened here with me.! I just didn't want to wait. Don't get me wrong, the 8-16$ helped my decision as well. But time is so hard to come by nowadays. I cant wait to get out and test this truck. I have adjusted not only the brake force, but the initial punch as well. If I am correct about the punch feature, this will prove to be an important element to this build. The stock punch was set stock at 75%. This means that after I use this car for speed runs, I can set the punch at 100% and do some cool burnouts.! Right now I have set it to the lowest (25%), anti-burnout setting for the speed runs. This may all prove very beneficial. Many thanks for the great comment my brother.!

I used my hobby wing card on brushed and brushless,after i hooked it up to a esc i just instructions for that esc and went down through the list,to me it was much simpler than worry about the labels on the program card

Hobbywing actually sells a version of this 'card' with a set of stickers, so you can match them with your ESC type. So, yes... they are identical.

@@AMAZINGRC no worries. BTW, this also works with the white label WP880 RTR ESCs you find on AliExpress. These are dirt cheap brushed ESCs.

Yes it will. It's just that the programm8ng is different between the two. They actually sell a package with one card and three faceplates. I looked the functions up online to figure out what I was doing.
