I put the 3700kv system in my Rustler BL-2s. I haven't checked speeds with the stock gearing and tires but with a 11t pinion and the sledgehammer tires it was mid to upper 30's (mph) on 2s and ~52 mph on 3s. I put a 20t pinion to speed run but it kept blowing over at around 52mph. The sledgehammer tires definitely strained it a lot more and I put a heatsink on it. It's more than enough power for it though, very fun to drive. The only problem I'm having is that getting it to reverse is annoying, I have to come to a complete stop and then it usually takes 2 or 3 tries before it finally reverses.

Wow! 20T? That is nuts. Wait, have you considered putting a front nose buggy wing on it? It might help, although, that is a lot or torque.
@rockr910910 ай бұрын
@@telecomandorc I need to do that and try again but I've just been bashing it lately. The 20t is what Traxxas recommends for 65+mph on the Vxl motor. I keep the 11t on it for everyday use though.

Thanks for the info, honestly the BL-2s was so close to being good enough for me. I want to pull wheelies while at a bit of speed and if I went from 25mph to 40mph I would be more than happy with the Stampede. The new Stampede/Hoss is a very fun truck to drive, convenient to cart around, just want a smidge more power off the line and top speed and I will be very happy. Is there any way you could send me a few pics of the install? Did the motor shaft size work with the stock pinion? Thanks

@@Markkrochuk1979 I would go with the 3700kv motor. If you are looking for wheelies... either will make your Stampede flip over just by looking at it. I joke, but they are a lot of power for the vehicle and the weigh distribution. I would do it. If you have a 4x4 it is awesome.

Nice motor but kinda annoying they give a 3s motor with a 4s esc
@telecomandorc11 ай бұрын
It did not cross my mind, but good point. I do not mind as I run 2s mainly and this esc handles the amps. But you make a good point as they do not offer a 3660 motor that can do 4s. I don't think you can get a 3660 in 2400kv-2800kv to handle 4s unless you go to the 4268 or 4274 which are too big in diameter to fit many common RCs. I guess you can get a Castle motor and run it with the HW but at that point, the Copperhead handles 4s too. Good point.
@boduke942811 ай бұрын
I'm not claiming it'll run forever but you can run the 3660 on 4s. At least it didn't smoke my first one in a few runs before I realized it wasn't meant to. I've ran it several times since without issue.

@@boduke9428 No, no... you are right. I am not recommending it either but the low Kv version... I do not recall if it was a 3100kv or lower... they are changing things up right now with the new 3665... The point is, geared low with good cooling it would take it. On a Tekno SCT410.3 it would make it flip. It was hard to gear low thought and it would draw enough amps to unsolder a wire off of the motor. HW motors are very durable.

In my limited experience anything is better than Traxxas electronics, granted all i have Traxxas is a TRX 6, Xmaxx, and UDR. All were much improved after swapping in Hobbywing. I admit to being an Arrma, Hobbywing fam. I got this exact combo on my Gorgon. It's mental on 3s. 2s is how the truck was meant to be.
@telecomandorc11 ай бұрын
Well, I also am a HW fan. They are simply great. I have not gotten a chance to put together the video for my ExRun 3665, but that system is best. But it might be out of budget for some. For RTR, BL-2s is good. Choosing between a Quicrun and a BL-2s is similar to choosing between a Corolla and a Camry... I would rather have the Tundra. Wait, that is not it. Joke. But I agree, HW just makes great products.

@@telecomandorc @doduke9428 you’d be surprise to power traxxas motors can take. I run a 3500kv vxl motor on 6s all day. That actually my fastest car rn And I compete against TP and Cordova motors all day. Plus I believe castle produced that motor for traxxas Even the esc. The vxl 3s esc pulls a higher continuous amp than a hobby wing sct 10 which is 4s capable . The hobbywing hits overload protection way before the vxl breaks a sweat . The vxl can run a heavier fdr before crapping out.

@@jayspeedchannel As far as high voltage, I am not surprised. @RodsReelsRCs has run it with GoolRC motors. Motors generally are limited by the bearings. What does seem impressive is that you can run it with no issues. I am curious what the RC, gearing, and cooling system you have is? I would love to push this motor safely for a whole pack.

@telecomandorc11 ай бұрын
What gearing are you using? I ran 55T spur and 35T pinion but the motor cogs a lot at low speed. But it just rips with extra input. So, I have to either go fast or go faster. But I cannot get it to go slow and smooth unless I drop the gearing, but then it rips the tires loose again. I may need to step it down to a 3652. This 3660 is too much.

Your American, you’re in america driving an American manufacturer’s rc car with electronics design stolen from an American company. Why do you always mention KMH and meters.
@telecomandorc9 ай бұрын
It does not matter if you win by an inch or a mile... metric is better. Joke. It is a decimal unit I am use to. Back in my land surveying days we used feet, tenths, hundredths, and thousandths of a foot. We never used inches. Back to Kilometers... it is just easier to take the diameter of a tire in mm... work the RPM... work the KMH and back. Good old Ford, on my old one I use SAE and metric tools... it is annoying. But on the newer one, I use metric. I grew up with SAE and metric. I could go on. I do not recall using SAE in High School or college math and science classes now that I think about it. Maybe we did. Driving 30 minutes south many signs are in both miles and Km interestingly enough.
