I'm really the way you have structured the recent videos with several media items (dance practice, live, etc.) together. I think it really works! One item to add to what I'm sure is an already daunting list. Around this timeframe is a song I don't want you to miss - Born Singer (its a J-Cole Cover not on an album). 'I Like It pt1&2' always make me think of it because they have the same feel. Born Singer is on BantangTV with lyrics and subtitles (released 2013). Also there are 2 live performances of this song that just give me chills they are so so good - the 2015 original live and the 2018 live. I know there is a stage mix out there with both lives together. Be aware they changed some lyrics in 2018 to fit their growth and changes so you will see double subtitles. As for Hobi - he just eats up chorography like he's starving - sometimes I just don't have words - all I can do is enjoy that huge smile he puts on my face :D

I think all of the original Japanese songs will appeal to you, as they tend to have a more sentimental/crooner feel. The guys have said before that it takes a bit more oomph in their performance to get Japanese ARMY to really forget themselves and go wild (which of course is a fun challenge) so I think the smoother Japanese released songs are both a nod to the market but also happen to be a bit of a break in their live performances from the antics they get up to during the more energetic performances.

I like the format you're using for your reactions, Laura. I'd only heard snippets of I like it pt. 1 in collage videos here and there and never heard part 2, so I was really interested. The vocals were amazing. Check out their I'll be missing you cover. I personally loved it. As for Hobi, he's a grower. I chose him as my bias (but perhaps I should say he chose me because it wasn't a conscious, deliberate pick) after a couple of months of intensive BTS immersion. Never disappointed me since

Adding a new comment because JK just killed me with his vlive that he did 4 hours ago...i know you love his smile and this is JK smiling at his finest and he was so sweet and animated. He gave us a 20 min. mini concert with in this 1hour plus stream. He sang covers and BTS classics...with some Bapsae hip thrusts! If you just want to watch the mini concert Ida S brought out a video of just him singing, but the whole stream was super adorable! BTW. He was wearing a see through pjs! Gah! The songs he covered were pretty much similar to I like it!

The change in music and choreography from their 1st 2 pieces shows how serious their management was in changing to an idol group. The change is really marked. Brilliant decision! I sure would enjoy knowing what the triggers were. I think finding what they really had vocally might have had something to do with it…but this is a huge change.

I see a couple people told you this song is in Japanese, and that BTS released Japanese albums over the years, because Japan was a big KPop consumer. I also love many of their songs in Japanese which do not have Korean counterparts, like Your Eyes Tell, Lights, and Crystal Snow.

I'M COMING AT YOU CAUSE I COMPLETELY AGREE!! LOL I agree, the vocalists shine in their vocal only songs and the rappers shine in their rap only songs. They are amazing when they come together but when allowed to fully focus on your strengths you of course are going to sparkle brighter. My favorite songs are their combined works: Let Go, Butterfly and Crystal Snow but when I hear Ddaeng or House of Cards they both hit differently. I like watching them focus on their own craft in songs as well. Wake up is the Japanese album that the song came from. So this was probably a concert. By hair this is near Boy In Luv which is correct cause I believe this album came out in 2014 same as BIL.

Based on your comments about their vocals, I think you will REALLY enjoy their Japanese singles. Their vocals really shine on For You, Let Go, Crystal Snow, Lights, Stay Gold, and Film Out. I can't wait until you get to them! If you're going in release order though it will be awhile since I think For You was the first Japanese single but I still can't wait!

BTS older Japanese songs are unfortunately not on their Hybe labes YT page or written on bighits home page discography list, so if you don’t know about them by name or something else it can be “harder” to find them. It’s really said because there are some really beautiful songs in there.. and based off of what you have said about your tasts, I think you will find some really to your liking.

@@fandomtherapist9310 think the usabtsarmy fan page is pretty good for finding info like this.. they have them categorised nicely. Also would say there are "two chategories". 1, the songs that have been translated from korean and than also has a korean version, usually with MV and everything. e.g. Boy in luv, danger, I need you. 2. the original japanese songs. For you, crystal snow, lights,. some of these also have MV. So happy hunting :D
