Nice colours on the hull and sail. I have the two seater Tandem Island, and I've never tried the Adventure Island. Looks like a fun boat!

and also very very easy to capsize

I guess that's a personal opinion. I've got quite a bit of experience with the old and new AI, and consider one of its strengths to be how difficult it is to capsize.

Is a 2018 hobie revolution 13 (which currently has 180 mirage drive) compatible with the newer kick up fin drives??

I've been a huge fan of the AI since owning my first one in 2018, so I'm glad to see it back in Hobie's lineup and getting some attention. Would've liked to have seen some improvements in the design, but is pretty good as is and that saves me from having to go out and buy a new one. Would also be nice to see some new accessories offered, like hakas, motor mount, keep-out lines, bow spray shield, etc. However, I do feel like stating 10 minutes from having an AI on top of your vehicle to being sail up ready to go is a bit optimistic and misleading. Likewise I feel like their depiction of its fishing suitability is a little misleading. It can make a great fishing platform but has some drawbacks when fishing whilst sailing. I think I've lost two rods overboard from trying to stow them in the H-crates vertical rod tubes while it's attached to the tank well like shown in the video. Finally, I feel like Hobie is missing an opportunity to highlight how flexible the AI is. It works great as a standalone kayak, and the option of going out with a single AMA is a pretty unique feature. Would really be nice to see the Island's growing in popularity enough to where the Hobie Island Club could actually be a real thing. Even though I just realized after typing the previous sentence that Hobie is saying this AI will only be available for a limited time, I wonder what that means exactly?

What are the differences with the previous version? ...Is the Tandem Island also getting a 2025 update?
@markstamp8722 ай бұрын
I own 2 Hobie Adventure Islands (AI) and another Adventure/Revo 16 that I'm going to convert into an AI. I could be wrong, but it looks to me like there are no significant differences between this "new" version and the "old" version...

Maybe a bigger sail and longer, thicker amas? I also swore the previous AI had a 350lb capacity. Other than that, kick up fins. But no main hull updates.

From everything I can find, there are no differences between this 2024 AI and the AI they stopped selling in 2020. Aside from color choices, possibly a different revision of included Mirage Drives or 8" hatches. All specs listed in the video are the same as previous.
