Great video!- After a year now, would say the h-rails interferes with your paddling at all? Especially in fast moving rivers going up current, there times I need to paddle like a mad man on this boat and anything that obstructs my paddling is bad.

Not at all but I have not used this kayak now for quite some time. It was not durable enough for my liking. I'm not a fan at all of this platform for fishing.

No problem 👍 What is the hole from? I know this boat is 50% less thick than the i11s was. For a temporary on the water fix, I'd strongly suggest you pick up some tear aid type b and a K Pump mini

@@JakeHarshman I *think* it was from a fish hook on a boat ramp, I was pulling it out and it started hissing and gurgling on the bottom. I saw another video on the tear aid B, and ordered some!

yep that sounds like a strong possibility. The tear aid is a temporary fix. Use the patch material that came with the boat along with some cement for the material, the name of which is escaping me right now. Then deflate the area, sand it a little bit then apply the cement to both the patch and the area where you will apply it. Press and hold it together until its stuck. Let it cure for 24 hrs and then reinflate it.

I used the standard H Crate with no issues, but either would work fine. I'd also recommend the mid or small sized Black Pak Pros by Yak Attack

Hello Jake, I just purchased a iTrek 11 and came across your h-rail installation video. Thank you for posting and I would like to ask you a question. Now that you are 4 months in, would you install the H-rail any different way? I am wondering if you have had any issues with torquing the pontoon with the elevated H-Rail? I am a big guy at 6’7” 260 and not exactly graceful. Thus, I know that I am bound to put some outward pressure on it at some point. It just seems like it would place more torque with it being so elevated. Thanks and best regards.

There's not much I'd do different but if we are being honest, I wish I wouldn't have bought the iTrek at all. It is not a fishing kayak, it's strictly recreational in my honest opinion.

The iTrek is made with a less thick material than previous inflatable models from Hobie which causes punctures easier

Great content. I was just about ready to buy a Lynx, but you may have sold me on the ITrek instead. I'd miss reverse but the lighter weight and durability around rocks and docks is huge. Been using an Isup for fishing for a while and not having to worry every time i hit a tree or other obstruction is such a huge peace of mind. Do you keep your inflated at home? If so do you store it on its side or upside down?

I keep mine inflated at home. I sit it on a couple plastic saw horses. As far as the choice, I don't think either boat is bad per say. My biggest reasons for opting for the inflatable is because I fish a fishery that is very rocky and has current. When I tested the Lynx, it was loud and got gouged up very easily on the Susquehanna. This boat is certainly better for that type of fishery. Whichever decision you make, I think you'll be happy! Let me know if you have more questions and I will attempt to help!

@@theoutdoordad7395 sure does but it's a weird kind of stability. when inflated completely if pushes back when pushed against because the air inside (if that makes sense)

Do you think we could add the H rail for an H bar to the iTrek 9 ultralight?

You could but I would strongly caution against it. The iTrek9 is a one chamber boat whereas the iTrek11 is three chambers. I would just hate to tear the material somehow from whatever you attach/install on the H Rail and then only have the one chamber.

How much flex do those h rails have left and right if you are sitting in the seat?

Very minimal but there is some because they are attached to a pliable base (meaning the inflatable material)
