Ernie Vasquez Jr. I have a compass and love it! Noticeably lighter than an outback and pro angler yet still quick and very stable. I upgraded to a compass from a 2013 revolution for the stability and I’m really glad I did! I’d definitely recommend it!

I agree I love my revo it’s faster through ocean chop than the outback but it’s a bit short on space for rigging up your fishing stuff baiting up etc and though stable feels not, I like the overall size of this though not sure about the tail end with a following sea, I love to use my sail kit too pity no mount is fitted and I hope they improve the seat fixing

Needs to have an option to buy with the 180 drive, and absolutely needs the Vantage seat. I would buy this right away if I could have those options.

Andrew Bean my local dealer does the 180 drive upgrade and the Compass seat is more comfortable and less hassle then the Vantage seat. I just got out of a 2016 Revo (with vantage seat) and went with a compass and I love it.

Ive heard some people having problems with the seat moving when pedaling. Hopefully thats not a reoccurring thing.

Just be sure the seat back straps are connected to the pad eyes on the sidewall of the kayak and not to the seat itself, and the bungee hooks to the seat for extra security, and your seat should be plenty secure.

Is this Compass as capable at offshore fishing as the Outback?

Both hulls are very capable and have plenty of similarities. The front hatch on the Outback is larger and comes in handy while on longer outings and can be used to carry more gear. The Compass is begging to be customized and can be upgraded to offer most of the options that the Outback offers!

It’s over priced for what you get . By the time you “customize” it you’ve just bought a PA or Outback without the stability on a PA or Outback . This specific boat needs to be around the $1500 range . It’s not worth the $2000 starting price . I test drove etc one and didn’t like it at all SO i bit the bullet and bought a PA12 .. this boat needs lots of upgrades to be competitive

i had a hobie once... sold it for a boat for the same price. got to way more fishing spots and had a whole lot less headache. if i was going to kayak i would pick a small lightweight one now. hobies are still to heavy and way to expensive still

I think they make a nice boat, i think they are just to expensive. For $2000 you can just go buy a real boat. I've been around enough plastic boats to know that they make these hulls for less than a hundred bucks. At the most that drive probably costs a couple of hundred bucks to build. So they are making these things for probably less than $500. A fair profit 100% so there you go $1000. The pricing on these are just a soak
