true story, when I was a kid back in 1976 or so, I lived in Orange county, neer the rail road tracks. We use to hunt rabbit and mess around in the near by orange groves. We saw a real hobo get off the train and build a fire to warm up. We asked him if he needed anything. We went home on bike and got him some can goods and potatoes, hot dogs. He made a killer stew and shared it with us. I ate with a genuine hobo! He caught the next frieigt train and never saw him again.

Funny thing, I bought a dog bowl for the alpine set but it has material on the bottom to prevent it from sliding around. So now it's a cat bowl. One thing I can say about your videos, they're enjoyable as they are. Saw one the other night that the fellow lost his temper over cooking mishaps; that was disturbing. You don't need to change a thing; vids with Fernbark are a hoot, too. Keep on keepin' on.

I've seen those bowls with the rubber bottoms to prevent bowl sliding. I knew they'd melt so I went with the nonrubber ones. I've had some bad days in the woods myself. Happens to us all. Thanks for watching.

you guys can't escape the rain there it seems. save ya some separated chicken grease with bits (freeze until using), bring some flour and make ya some chicken gravy. then add-in to your stew with some water. maybe a small dutch oven corn bread or bannock on sticks. just a idea for future. looked fun - hit liked.

Enjoyed the video!!! Meal looked great!!! Earned my thumb up!!! 👍. Gonna remember that combination!!! That said, that was NOT a stew. A stew is cooked in and served in its liquid. That said, I loved the video!!! Chuck Knight. 🤠👍🦌

Looked great, my wife has been sick so I haven't been able to get out in the favorable conditions we've had recently, usually we have feet of snow already but as of right now not any at all at 5000 feet where I live. So until I can get out and have a fire myself, I''ll just continue to watch yours. ^^ I call that stew a win, even without the bacon, but I'm sure you'll remind yourself to bring the bacon along next time you are preparing something that could use it. I'm not sure about your local Costco, but ours has a deal on a huge bulk pack of the linguisa that you always have. Did you burn all your wood or are you going to take whats left(if any)and leave it in your truck to dry for the next time?
@EatCarbs6 жыл бұрын
One of the guys with me.. Eric.. took the rest of the wood with me for next time. Hope Mrs. ETOH is feeling better soon. Lots of sickness going around lately. I will have to check Costco.. problem that I run into is eating it fast enough. lol Thanks for watching brother

That is the perfect size sausage, it's hard to find them in that size. Never heard of putting dirty dish next to ant hill. Seen your Nalgene and reminded me I seen two at a thrift store for .80 each, was going to get them but we're on a budget since I'm unemployed at the moment, plus I have too many water bottles anyway. Meal looked good.

Nice vid. I do have some constructive criticism for you. Most people's attention span is pretty short these days, so unless you are actively doing something with the pot, or making a direct comment to the viewer, they will lose interest rapidly if they are just staring at a cookpot, or a bed of coals for too long. Maybe see about either fast forwarding/time lapse these parts, or do some time cuts, like maybe add the food, and pop up a title screen that says "3 minutes later" then go right into the next thing, like adding the other ingredients or whatever. That's part of the reason I havent started uploading my vids yet, is I am trying to get all those kind of elements in place for editing my own stuff. It will cut video time a bit, but its quality over quantity. Hope this helps.
@EatCarbs6 жыл бұрын
It's tough because some people ask for longer videos and showing more details. I think it came out as a nice happy medium. I also get asked to show more of the cooking. I will see if I can trim it up a little bit. Thanks for watching.. and the criticism.

Is it safe to use a dollar store dog dish to cook in

I bought this bowl at a pet store. I don't see why it's bad to cook in since it's stainless steel. Thanks for watching
