What I've found, getting older, is that 'stuff' means nothing. What matters is a roof, adequate warmth, food, water etc. But the most important thing is peace of mind. Peace of mind that you are safe and reasonably comfortable. No frills necessary, well executed basics are enough. If we achieve those things, then we should consider ourselves blessed.

Tell that to all the “collectors” here on KZbin. Grownups with toys, puppets, action figures, arcade games, sports cards, comic books, sports memorabilia, artwork. Maybe if these tiny homes came with a big empty shed, they’d be a game changer.

My good friend bought a used fifth wheel with triple slide outs. She found a fantastic spot to park it in a local campground - facing a lovely lake. She pays rent bi-annually.She has her little car to dart around town. It's very practical for her (she was widowed five years ago) and her kitty and small dog. Security in the park year round. In fact, about ten others have chosen to do the same. So there are card games, bridge, book clubs, crafts and art classes all the time. We have a fantastic Playhouse in the next county over, so there's always a group to hit all the opening nights! I am seriously considering selling my home and getting a fifth wheel or tiny home. No property taxes!!

We all started out as kids in 1 bedroom (some of us had to share lol) and this is a major step up from that. We can go back to it. If we don't mind downsizing our things. That's how I try to look at it. I have a 2 bed 1 bath, normal size home now, which still isn't all that big. So I can definitely do it eventually.

Chris...you are a doll! You are right about down-sizing.... Who wants to leave a lot of stuff for family. I live in Ontario, Canada. I am 77 and gave up a custom built home plus a couple of acres to move to a 2 bedroom apartment. If we had Tiny House communities here, that's what I would have opted for. It has been a dream, to live in a Tiny Home community. I notice you never mentioned your 4 legged companion, quietly in your space. I think you are really blessed to have achieved what you have and, I hope you will get to live a long, healthy life. ❤

Well...the title implies that the viewer will learn HOW to find a place to put your (already existing?) tiny home that only charges $200/month rent. Nowhere does that happen in this video. Those "in the know" realize she's talking about ITH in Newport, TN. You have to buy your tiny home from them in order to put it on one of their spots. But they do claim the rent won't ever be raised, so it's an option if you need to live cheap.
@TinyHomeTours2 ай бұрын
Look at the very top of the description
@Widdershins.2 ай бұрын
@@TinyHomeTours Yes, that's what I had to do to confirm she's at ITH. But the title of the video implied we'd learn something about how to find cheap parking spots for our tiny homes, and that's not exactly what we got. I have no issues with the content of the video otherwise...the lady seems very nice.
@BeDoHave-so8nr2 ай бұрын
What everybody who touts the low rent at ITH overlooks is that you have to give them a key payment for the "privilege" of living there. This is money that you give them, money that you never see again. It's non-refundable, so if you have to leave earlier than expected, as many have, you get none of it back. The current key payment is $30,000! It will take many years to recoup that in low rent.And their community doesn't have any amenities, like a community center, or trash pickup. It was a good deal for those who got in early, but not the newcomers.
@annjames18372 ай бұрын
Unless you have a contract, their "claim" is nonsense and misleading

Loved seeing this amazing lady's home. I would want something like this if I were ever lucky enough to buy a tiny home as I have mobility troubles a lot of the time so definitely couldn't live with an upstairs loft bedroom like so many tiny homes have. I also want to get rid of a lot of my stuff as I don't want my kids to deal with that when I am gone. I live in a small one bed flat in England so I can't be hoarder but I do have too much of everything IMO Next year I am going to have a very strict clear out and donate everything that isn't essential to my life, especially the many pairs of shoes I have that I rarely wear. I envy this woman having a home in Hawaii as it is a beautiful place to live. x
