You can find drinking water in every cemetery. It’s there for the flowers.

For camping look out for "Camping à la ferme" Which i believe are known as an "Aire Naturelle " these days. Cheap and basic but safe and sound with toilets and showers. Your in a farmers field basically. Hope to see you back this season really enjoyed your videos last year.

I've spent several years driving through Fr. If I can get away camping out off the beaten track in my camper then it should be much more obscured with a bike. Just don't leave rubbish behind

Excellent summary! I still remember your last summer adventure in France...Bloody hot.. Regarding water, you can find it easily in cemeteries (at least in Spain)... Besides, it is a safe place to sleep a night😂

Ah yes! I forgot about this- throughout Europe it is possible to find water in cemeteries - also quiet place to sleep at night where no one complains ;)

Just remember ,if you get water from a cemetery, water someones grave flowers . That way the cycling gods will take care of you.

1:35 First thing you need to know is "je ne parle pas Français". I worked a lot in France and I'm not good with learning languages. I know a few words but with that phrase people are more willing to help you and understand you. After a while you'll learn some French words for the specific english ones that non-english speakers would struggle with. But start with je ne parle pas Français to show you did effort

This is true! most English speakers will also be amazed how much French they already know, as most English is made up of French/Dutch/German

great vid thanx. when do the municipal campsites open?
@polarweis
@polarweis 5 ай бұрын
Generally from April till oktober. The warmer months so to say. You can always look on the website or call, but dont expect them to speak English. During the vacation period the municipal campsites are used by people staying for one night, so arriving late and leaving early, so maybe not the best vibe. The price difference is not that much with other small campings which are often more cozy in my experience. Where are you going to cycle?

@@polarweis Hey, thats great thankyou for that info! I will probably take a 125 motorbike instead. im not fit enough to cycle. Hope life is good with u! Happy travels🙂

@@peaceforchildren4303 can also be lots of fun on 125. If you choose the right route there will be almost no big hills so you dont need to be an athlete to cycle, I meet lots of people in their 70s still doing this.😉

appreciate the tips and look forward to same format for other countries! As to the 'strange plumbing' - how does one deal with a seat-less toilet?
@krob9145
@krob9145 Жыл бұрын
Squat or hover over the seat less toilet. If you haven't got your own toilet paper with you, save a small water bottle for a DIY personal bidet spray.😁

Cheers Randy! There is different ways to approach the seatless problem, but i must leave this up to the viewers to solve! Comment below ;)

Low bread prices have been fixed by the government since the French Revolution. Bread was a bit of a big deal even back then, so they threatened to guillotine anyone who objected to this idea, and everyone’s been too scared to cancel the law ever since.

I wish they fixed food prices here in NZ, in Europe & UK food is half the price!
