@InteriorLookbook Thank you so much for your kind words! I never got around to making some kind of cover for it. I would highly recommend a 5YR though I wouldn't suggest trying to fill it with photos every day. :)

@@InteriorLookbook Yes, I have the A5 2023-2027. I bought it with the intent to doodle/draw every day. Depending on how you’re going to use it and the larger size doesn’t bother you too much, I would recommend the A5 Cousin size. The writing space in the A6 is less than 1” tall while the writing space in the A5 is less than 1 1/2” tall, if that makes sense.

I want to thank you for proving how sturdy and well made the hobonichi 5yr is. I am strongly considering getting one as a 10yr (using the opposite page for the extra years) and the fact it can hold up to your stress test proves to me it would survive as a 10yr, even if the edges will probably become a little ragged.

@ciannacolean5125 You're so welcome! If you add nothing to any of the pages, I think the edge of the pages will not become ragged, if you're "careful" with it. Yes, it was my worst nightmare, too. I can't remember if I said it in the video, but I don't know why it didn't occur to me when I first started to do it that it would bulk up like crazy. NEVER occurred to me until a few weeks in that the 5YR was in trouble.

@@polyglotg LOL I get it! There's a 5YR FB group, if you need ideas. As I said in my video, I didn't keep up with my highlights of the day (on the left side of page), but I did try to keep up with the photos on the right side. If you keep up in your A5, you could always go back in your A5 to fill in your 5YR, depending on how you decide to do it. :)

Wow that is awesome! I have the a5 5-year I use for noting something about my day, 2020 is year two. I just got the a6 5-year journal to start logging my daily bible verses. I’ve been doing it in an a6 techo and thought the 5-year would be a better place. Won’t be putting any photos in it. Am wondering if you think with only writing it would fit in the leather cover the entire 5 years? Thank for sharing.

Hi, yes, the A6 5YR would fit into the 5YR leather cover, if all you do is write in it! When I first bought my 5YR almost three years ago, the 5YR Techo did fit into its original cover without any problems. So you should be fine. :) Thank you for watching the video! I do appreciate it!

If you ever do something with your book I'd love to see an update of how you accommodate all the chunk! LOL Yes, our first bulldog, Angus, had me wrapped around her paw finger. She was definitely the queen of the house. Bruce isn't as demanding but really loveable. LOL Someone in the 5YR Hobo group told me to try to bind it. I might end up doing that. (Been watching quite a few ladies making their own December Daily (junk?) journals and it's been interesting to watch them make their own folder covers! Thank you so much for watching the video. I know the explosion of binding freaks out some (like me), but it's still holding together despite that! 😃

You can pull the top layer of the photo, that is what I do. So it is a lot thinner!

WHOA!!! That 5 Year Techo...!!! This particular techo format is the one I am struggling the most with. It is just so unnatural to my usual "process" 😕 I am honestly still at a bit of a loss with mine. As I mentioned in one of my videos, I found myself repeating entries from the A6 techo 😑 THAT LEATHER! 💜 Perfection! 💚 love it! 🧡 Now I want one 🙃 The pretty flowers and birds embroidered cover that mine came with ultimately was not of any use to me (I am selling it, if anyone in New Zealand is reading this!). My 5Y techo is currently "naked" and I am OK with it. The cover is made of that plastic (?) material so the edges are pretty sturdy and it does not really need a lot of protecting. I wish they do not have the 5Y techo written in front of this leather cover, so I can use it for the other ones. Midori Traveller's Company I think has some BEAUTIFUL leather covers in A6 and A5. Very similar to this, in that they are natural vegetable tanned (?) with no dye so that it can patina naturally to honey brown! Thank you so much for showing us yours!!

For 2020, there hasn't been much written in there. Quite frankly, there's not much of 2020 I want to memorialize on my pages. So I am okay leaving those pages blank but writing down the weather and photo on the right side of page. Like Incognito wrote below, I can't read Japanese, either, and I kind of like how it looks. I'm actually making the repetition thhe point of my 5-year techo. So I do daily journaling on the daily portion of my cousin, and then at the end of the week/day or whatever, I do a condense version of what I wrote. I just want to be able to look back and have an at-a-glance look of what happened the previous year. I'd hate to have different info on diffrenent journals anyway. Nothing wrong with a little repetition. 💜💜

The one I use daily is my A6 diary. It's okay if I don't keep up with the other journals because I'd be able to refer back to my A6 diary to fill those blank pages. LOL I don't think I'd use electronic journals... I don't use my cell or ipad calendar. You've seen my sticker and washi stash!! How would I be able to use all that up on an electronic journal?? LOL
