I never saw the utility of monthly pages in my work planner, but using them as a sort of calendex/accomplishment tracker makes a lot of sense. I'm definitely going to start this!

I have an A5 day-free coming from Amazon this week to try as my 2024 work planner. I’ve decided I don’t need a cousin- the weeklies are redundant for me. If I run out of note pages in say, August, I’ll buy another one and continue in the 2nd one for the rest of the year. Sort of like a cousin avec.

Good idea! This year I was a bit on the fence with my cousin because I kind of thought I could take it or leave it with the weeklies but I am going to try to keep up with them this year as I do want a record of what happened each day in a schedule format. Thanks for watching!!! :) :) :)

I've been using an A5 Leuchtturm 1917 dotted grid for YEARS as my work planner - but when I got a Cousin for my personal life, I went from a bulletjournal format in my work planner to a horizontal weeks layout on the left with a blank page on the right for a full week task list, upcoming things, and listing meetings. I've been searching for a pre-printed journal that satisfies this so I don't have to draw everything in, but most are vertical weeks or have a plethora of goals pages, etc. The day-free hobonichi might be my compromise. I can enjoy the TRP (drool) and will still have to draw my own weeks in there, but the paper alone might be worth the effort. I am wary it will not have enough blank pages once I'm done, though.... Hmmmmm. So many things to think about. But I'm blathering on... oh! One more thing: the yearly index? I would use that to track what pages have what notes/projects on them if there were some way to renumber them to match the blank pages... that would be the challenge of course. Okay. I think I'm done. Great video! Thank you! (I should have led with that). --c.

I would like this better if it had the monthly planner and the weeklies - I use the weeklies for my daily to-do lists. But I don’t need the diary (daily) part and would rather have just the blank gridded pages instead. I live in hope!

I agree! i love the hobonichi dayfree! the a6 dayfree + weekly supplement is my favorite combo. I used it for work and it was perfect. I used the weekly supplent as a project gant chart when i had multiple projects and milestones. I used sticky notes to map out deadlines. If it changes i can easily move it and once it happens i remove the sticky note and permantely type it in.

I can imagine how the day free could work well. But I use a weeks. Using the weekly page to note down the one (or 2) main task I HAVE to complete on a certain day as it’s really for an email or call to get me sidetracked doing something else than the main priority. And I love the size😊

I think a lot about using the Weeks like this as well, I like the weekly spread and the form factor is just sooo nice!

LOL - oh the moving of meetings. *sigh* I can understand the joy of the Hobonichi. They planned the perfect planner. Hah! It's the paper, it crinkles, it's like the Bible. I find that taking notes on paper in a meeting works so much better for me. I have tried so many times to take notes on OneNote while listening, but when writing it down I retain it much better. My favorite pen is the one that they send with the planners. Simple is better.

Child. You are charming and hilarious. Subscribed. Giving Day Free a spin for work for 2024. Pro tip: make a ‘waiting for’ sidebar. You send off that ridiculously important email? The ‘waiting for’ note will remind you to watch for the reply. Do it! Prevent All Slippage. (Or as much as possible.) Cheers !

I've been thinking of doing a Days Free for work, mostly because of the index. I'm going for it! I love Hobonichi AND Muji gel ink. I refill my pentex clenas with Muji. 😊

Just to clarify - the excitement demonstrated at 3:59 is in response to a physical journal?
