Welcome to my 2025 Hobonichi Techo haul/unboxing…and, yes, all the items were ordered direct from the Hobonichi website on launch day. 😉 The Hobonichi order being unboxed contains items for both myself and for my adult daughter- we have both adored our Hobonichi planner lovelies for the past several years, and we were excited to order some new goodies for 2025. Sister please don’t say sorry about crying and speaking about your mother. I understand I lost my mother in 2007 on June 9th. My daughter got married on September 8th. We had my mother’s outfit that she was going to wear to the wedding altered to fit my daughter and she wore it when they left on their honeymoon. Bless you for sharing your story. I remember watching your videos years ago when you showed your Hobonichi hauls and affectionly talking about you and your mums orders and I can only imagine how this felt for you knowing you lost your Mum and I know it took me 5 hours to get half our orders in and the frustration was so bad add your emotional attachment to this process and I really feel for you and thank you for being so brave to express how hard it was for you. I remember watching your Hobonichi unboxing when your mom was still with us because there were always some for her, and when you broke the news, I felt a strange sense of loss. Big fan of the weeks mega, too, for work. I love having the monthly overview and weekly, and having a notes section is a huge plus for me. No other Hobonichi has that setup. I'd go for the original A6 if it had a notes section, too, but I definitely love the weekly spread.

Hello. I agree on your point…but, I typically can’t stand Velcro. Bad for my clothes, wallets, purses, etc. (But) I do think the Velcro on the Reusable Envelopes has been done very well/thoughtfully and I am not worried about carrying one in a nice bag. 😊

I feel with you. I lost my mom to cancer in 2022. We also thought she would be fine. Then my brother calls me on a Thursday, I live 3 hours drive away. And asks me if I want to see Mom again before she dies. I need to get my ass there asap. We got there Friday. And on Saturday after seeing my 2 older brothers one last time. She died. I started using Hobonichi that year. I bought from their online store for the first time last year. And I was right there with you last Sunday. I was so sad I thought I couldn't get any items I wanted. But I finally got the Spy Family a6 Hon (my first ever Hon), the a5 Spy Family cover with an avec, and the Spy Family stencil. But I will order more when I can afford it.

First time watcher and I’ve never used a hobonichi. However, I’m so very moved by your experience. Hugs to you and your family! I haven’t finished the video but am glad to see it includes an unboxing. Grief is phenomenal. It is irrational and no experience of it is the same, even within your own (additional) experiences. Just know that as you continue to do launch day and unboxings, the memories of your mom will be even more cherishing. They will be all of the things: happy, fun, sad, devastating, etc etc etc. You will get through them alone, with your family and with your followers. Take care and I’m glad you have that support.

I remember watching ur hobonichi unboxing with yr moms items. Im also very close with my mom and I cried then and i cried now watching u, i admire ur vulnerability and talking about it. I think ita very lovely u keep the tradition with ur doughter. I do hope the memory of ordering hobonichi with ur mom becomes a memory of joy in the future and not loss and sadness. Let me tell u, I also cried on launch day, prior to hobonichi launch i was habing a very difficult time, i rescued a cat and found out he was very sick and after taking care of him tirelessly he passed and my original cat sheldon became very sick too and i honestly thought he was gonna die, to add to that i fell and broke my toe. For 2 weeks coming and going from vet clinics and hospitals every single day by uber with cat carrier, broken toe, worried but still looking forward to that one nice thing the hobonichi launch. I guess that was the last straw for me, ended my night 3am hugging my paper thin cat and crying. Next day, i was able to order hobonichi and my cat finally ate something and now he is doing better. Sorry for the long reply, i hope ur 2025 planners are filled with great memories and joy :)

I am so in Love with that A5 Dandelion cover, I want it so much, but I never use the Cousin size and don’t know what I would use it for. Maybe I should get it anyway, just in case? I have been trying to figure out the background color of the Toy Snake design. In the pictures I felt it looked grungy but if it’s a pale sage I would probably like it. I would email Hobonichi about the defect in your Mega and include a closeup picture. Maybe they’ll send you a replacement. Otherwise you got very nice placement of the snakes!

Me too- my caseloads are usually dockets with some specially set contests, so it’s very calendar driven. The GtD method would kill my career, LOL. The cousin works great as a main planner and I use the Weeks as an EDC. Some years I use the A6 for personal stuff- I put everything, work and personal, in the Cousin, so my calendar’s in one place, but use the A6 for more details. Hope that makes sense.

I'm in the legal field as well, I never considered the weeks for my planner. I might try it out in 2025. Currently using a half letter inserts in C+P, which is working but a bit larger for carrying around.

You should just cut out the text block from the weeks cover so you can at least fabric for you work weeks. It’s a shame to distroy the beautiful snakes weeks
