The sample page in the A5 5 year is the current Tomoe River paper. Hobonichi gives you a sample page so you can test the layout. Only the regular A6 and A5 Techos came with the sample new Sanzen paper.

I new it was the layout because I got the same thing when I bought my 5 year A6 in 2022 but I thought the sample would be in the new paper. Thank you for letting us know 🌷

According to the Hobonichi website it is a test page. The Hobonichi 5-Year Techo will be delivered in a turquoise blue paper box. The box will contain a user manual and a test sheet of paper for you to get a feel for the paper and test pen or ink compatibility. We’d love for everyone to be able to experience how the new paper will feel and write before the switch happens, so we’ll be including “Tomoe River Test Paper for the 2024 Edition.” The test paper will be included in the 2023 edition of the Original, Cousin, Planner, and Day-Free. Use your usual writing utensils in the new paper to compare. And if you would, please tell us your thoughts about the new Tomoe River paper here. We look forward to hearing from you!

There have been people doing the math, over the past few year, on hobonichi shipping. It usually works out, if you are ordering mor than one item, it’s best to buy through hobonichi. The markup at USA sites, like jet pens, is very high.

I just got home from work and I couldn’t stop thinking about this video of yours I watched a few nights back with these gorgeous covers! Love your order and covers! I used the black/ivory stripe inside my macchiato. I’ve gone without a cover and it’s okay. If I use my stripe clear covers and a vellum, I just lay my weeks on top. Great video as always. I have the mega weeks in red. I have it in a clear cover and I have it in a Moterm weeks cover and it fits like a charm. I don’t know if the leather cover is different but you should try. I didn’t have to cut anything it. 😊

oh, wow love that video, i have a moterm hobonichi weeks cover in the sandy pink colour pebbled and i found with my hobonichi weeks book with plastic cover that it did fit very well in the moterm cover, you also got me thinking about getting a A6 or A5 hobonichi notebook for journaling for next yr and i do love the cover for your A5, its gorgeous you always seem to pick the beautiful neutral colours

Did you see the part that I cut the plastic cover to make it fit? It works 😍 I love both A6 and A5 for journaling it will depend on how much writing space you will need 🌷 I love the neutrals 🤍

This is gorgeous!! Great unboxing! And that shipping? That’s incredible. I have also heard that shipping is really expensive. I think I will definitely be making an order straight from hobonichi next year! I love your covers! Also I have seen some people add a thick Cardstock to the large back pocket to make it more stiff if you want to try that and see if you like it more. 🤎 Thank you so much for sharing! 😍🤎

I tried it 🥹 it kinda shows on the outside.. like at the end of the video when I try to put the cover inside and it showed on the outside of the pocket… I will try one more time but it might just be too soft.. I might need one with stiffener 😍
