The founding fathers of this town had to have been the most courageous people in the world. Can you imagine what they had to withstand during the jim crow era, but I think this is what made Hobson City an extremely close knit community. Thanks for sharing this history...

That school is the old CE Hanna Elementary. It housed 1st - 3rd grades in the Oxford Public School District up until early 2000's. The new CE Hanna, now home to grades 5-6, is located in Oxford. Prior to integration into the Oxford district in the 70's, the building in Hobson City was Calhoun County Training School for blacks, grades 1-12. The building now houses some city offices and will soon be home to a museum. The hill beside the school is a two-way street. I don't know if anyone still does this, but I remember when I was a child people would blow the driving over the hill during the day and flash the lights at night to alert other drivers. I am not sure if the hill actually sees much action now that the school is no longer there.

The old C.E. Hanna building shown in the video is now the current town hall. The senior center is connected to the library. They have a separate entrance on the side of the building. The brick building with the cars parked outside is a doctor's office. I think the specialty is infectious diseases. I do know that the staff travels across the state and at one time was one of the few facilities in the state to treat HIV and AIDS cases. They operate the tiny house community that you saw. Thank you for being respectful in your commentary. Even though I no longer live in Hobson City, I still love it and the people. We have a big reunion each year on the third Saturday in August. We would love for you to come back and visit then.

good vlog . this town looks pretty relaxing . this seen 8:28 was soothing two cats and one is just relaxing on the car rooftop . I wish I was that cat and just live in this lonely town with some caring people who feeds me here and there and pet me too . by the way today I ate subway tuna roll and it was pretty bad bcs I forgot to choose vegitables so it was just tortilla and tuna and some sauce. I am sooooo dumb pray for me
