最近になってこの曲を初めて聴き、彼の他のジャンルに比べあまり高く評価されていないような話を聞いて、確かに幾分物足りない感じがしますが、ところどころ渋みと柔らかさがあるような感じがするので気に入っていますよ。現在57歳で子供の頃からブラームスが好きでしたがもっと若いうちに聴いていたら虜になっていたかもしれないですね。第1主題の経過部から第2主題にさしかかる30小節から39小節までなどのドライブ感なんて若いブラームスがとびきりに突っ走ってすごくかっこいいのに、もっと長く聴きたかったのに本当に勿体ないな、考え過ぎじゃなかったかな、と思いました。でもとても好きですよ。いい曲ですね、いい演奏だと思います。演奏難しそうでしょうね。
