Other general football videos to do could include... most athletic plays, most feared players, crazy weather games, craziest plays, and dirtiest players. Individual players to look at should include... Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Lawrence Taylor, Ray Lewis, and Ronnie Lott, just to get you started.

8:00 Can't hit the head or neck area on a QB in the pocket. Can't hit the head of a receiver. Can't hit a defenseless receiver. But once someone is actively running with the ball it's pretty much a free-for-all unless you blindside them because everyone understands that someone running with the ball can have their head in any position. Only exception is if a player (it used to be QBs only) slides feet first - in which case they are ruled as having given themselves up. Hitting them after this slide has been clearly initiated is an unnecessary roughness and is 15 yards and an automatic first down. Say it is 3rd and 13 on the 30 and the QB takes off to run for it, but then slides after 7 yards at the 37. After their butt hits the ground a defender comes in and hits them. That puts the ball at the 45 and it is now 1st and 10.

11:16 is the example of why helmets are here to stay, 14 got knocked out slamming his head on the turf. Tackler didn't touch the helmet.

6:55 never has been legal. You can't hit the returner before they get the ball, and as far back as the early 90s there has been a rule that you have to give the returner enough space to catch the ball first.

The whiplashes gotta be crazy

Yes. I only played football to the semi-pro level, but have had multiple surgeries on various joints, including getting a plate and six screws in my neck. Whiplash, concussions, hyperextensions, dislocations, and broken bones, are all common occurrences. Also abrasions, deep bruises, muscle tears, and the occasional lacerations. There's a reason why leagues from the children's developmental ones to the different professional ones usually have the teams wait a week in between games. Other sports can be played on back-to-back nights, or every other day, but there is no practical way you can do that in football.

4:15 Used to be allowed, and was when that clip happened. But it isn't allowed anymore. That would be unnecessary roughness these days.

A Canadian who doesn't watch the CFL is strange indeed.

Is it? I don't know anyone that watches the CFL. Lots of friends watch the NFL though.

A canadian reaction to the NFL when you have the CFL, as if the sport isn't widely available for consumption all over North America seems odd, even for a hockey fan.

The NFL is an entirely different animal to the CFL. In fact, most Top 10 NCAA Football teams would beat CFL teams. He also says right in the intro that he has played the game and watched the game before, but he isn't a close follower and isn't super familiar with the sport.

@@liamengram6326 He's reacting to big hits... That happens in high school... In fact the biggest hits and craziest plays happen when there is a disparity of talent and people are out of position, and their body is out of alignment. Picking on the CFL and saying he knows the sport, makes his reactions to it disingenuous. On another note, are you his lawyer? Wouldn't a cease and desist letter be more to the point, if you are going to fight his battles for him?

@@DrWestlake No. The biggest hits don't happen when there is a disparity. They happen when a 6'3 252lb psychopath who makes 7-8 figures a year to hit people runs in to a 5'10 228lb psychopath who makes just as much to run people over.

If it happened more in HS there'd be more high school clips, sweetheart. You're speaking like a true "never played a single sport past middle school but thinks they could GM any sporting franchise" wvnker.
