always played fwd or Defense because i was so short and a fast skater but i always wanted to play goalie always would play goalie on our mini hockey tournaments at our hotels for tournaments kinda gets me teared up thinking about it miss those days, long drives to different states, i now play goalie at 22 in a roller league and dek league, ended up being a wash up missing out on Juniors and college (couldnt afford it) but becoming goalie ive never wanted to play any other position again the adrenaline you get when someone comes down on a 2-1 or breakaway is like a roller coaster and no other position is like it, any goals i pick my head back up and worry about the next one. as a defense man i always was close to goalies knowing how stressful it can get being between the pipes, i always envied the goalies that "stood on their head" i always wanted that label or to hear that that you did what maybe 3 other people can do on the ice (other teams goalies and your backup) knowing your team depends on you some people cant deal with that pressure but i thrived on it, won 18u AA(ik its a joke but its what i could afford gulls/royals AAA were like 9-10k a year its already expensive to live here) NY states in 2013 as a defense man in 4 OTs and i wanted to feel that between the pipes because if it wasnt for the goalies the game wouldve ended much earlier, anything you had close to going in was hitting pipes goalies are something special they are different species of hockey players end of story..

I'm a sports fanatic. The goalie, the beast and monster of the ice. It takes one hell of a mf to play that position. He has the most gear on, has to be focused, have very quick and sharp reflexes, has to have a great level of flexibility and be one tough mf. Respect to any and all who plays this position.

Must be 36 wingers that don't like this video. Im in my late 50's have played goal for ever and this past 2 years my hips have been letting me down I finally went to get them checked after packing in hockey 2 years ago because of the pain. Ive torn hams,groin and calf but my hips are bone on bone now and use a cane to get around. Ive been told I will get both hips done the same time but will never play goal again. Just being able to walk without pain would be nice but to play my favorite position would be tops. Anyone out there have hip replacement and got back between the pipes???
