Hockey In Slovakia | Watching KHL HC Slovan Bratislava Ice Hockey Game

Come join us for ice hockey in Slovakia as we watch a professional HC Slovan Bratislava game from the KHL (Kontinental Hockey League). As a Canadian it probably shouldn't come as a surprise that I'm a huge hockey fan. One of the things I miss most about not being in Canada is being being able to watch hockey games. When I remembered there was a professional hockey team in Bratislava, Slovakia I jumped at the chance to go to the game.
The tickets were very reasonably priced at 22 Euros each for some of the best seats in the house. What I liked even more was that the concession stands were selling reasonably priced and tasty food. We ordered two giant klobása (spicy sausages), 2 drinks (large beer + soda) and giant tub of popcorn for only 12 Euros.
The fans of HC Bratislava Slovan were certainly passionate and the overall entertainment level of going to a game combined with the skill of the players makes for a great experience even if you're not an ice hockey fan.
I'd definitely watch another hockey game in Bratislava, Slovakia if I ever get a chance and I love my new HC Bratislava Slovan hat! They're officially my favorite team in the KHL ;)

Hockey In Slovakia | Watching HC Slovan Bratislava KHL Ice Hockey Game Travel Video Transcript:
This afternoon is Sam's special outing. Tell us all about it. Definitely special. I get to go to a hockey game. Yes, you do. I was just thinking when was the last time I went to a professional game and it was 2 years ago in Belfast when I saw the Belfast Giants play.
it is hockey night in Slovakia so we're going to catch a tram and we're going to go to a professional KHL game. That is the Kontinental Hockey League. What is KHL? It is basically like a Russian and European league. Alright. And it is probably the second best league in the whole world behind the NHL so it is going to be really good hockey and I'm pumped to go watch a game.
And what team are we seeing play? We're seeing the local team. So they I believe they're HC Slovan Bratislava.
So I decided to splurge on good seats so I am getting the 22 Euros each. I mean, I don't get to go to many games so I want to have good views.
Alright, so show us that hat. Check out this. This one is a beauty. It is so so nice. The Slovan hockey team. My favorite new favorite team in the KHL.
We sure got a lot of food and drink for 12 Euros. Let's this is where I come in food. This I can talk about. This you can talk about. I know nothing about hockey. But we've got some sausage. Two sausages and bread. And these are called Klobása. Klobása not Kielbasa. Not like in Poland. Klobasa. These are huge. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Like massive. Lots of mustard. And huge popcorn. I got a big beer.
I want to give a shout out to one of my favorite Slovak players of all time. Uh huh. In fact, he may be one of the greatest ever. Marian Hossa. He's just retiring this year and he played for the Chicago Blackhawks my favorite team.
So we're down but the game itself has been really good. The crowd is really into it. There is like constant cheers. There is cheerleaders.
The home team didn't win. Yeah, it was really going for them. And they were like outshot by like I think it was like 10 to 12 shots but they were pushing so hard they actually tied up with the other team in terms of shots but they just couldn't get one in. So unfortunately they lost. But in terms of the actual experience that was so so good. Such high quality hockey. Really good entertainment value and I would definitely go back and watch another game for sure. Spoken like a true Canadian. Yeah. Yeah. Hockey. I do love my hockey. Alright, tata for now guys.

HC Slovan Bratislava is the best hockey team in central Europe, playing the second best league in the world, that year has an unsuccessful season, but the atmosphere at the stadium is always amazing.

That is so cool! I really hope to revisit Chicago again soon. I'd love to take a trip with my Dad who is a big Cubs, Blackhawks and Bears fan. Actually the game was well attended we just filmed our speaking clips during intermissions when most people were grabbing some food or going to the washroom. What part of Chicago are you from?

I was really into hockey and went to many games and events the team had. Met the players and got hockey pucks and stuff signed by players. I was a Flyers fan. Those are amazing prices for the food. At theatres a popcorn is almost 12 dollars!

My brother in law is a huge Blackhawks and Cubs fan. We have a USHL team here in Green Bay called the Gamblers. The games are awesome.

Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos I often visit the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. There's so many areas to backpack and camp. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is great. If you love to hike, Isle Royale is wonderful. If you like good food and history, I'd consider staying on Mackinac Island at the tip of Michigan's UP.

Been to Slovakia for the last 8 years (partner is Slovak). If you visit again, visit Trenčín hockey stadium. A lot of Slovaks from here gone on to star in the NHL. Pavol Demitra shirt is on display and the stadium I think is named after him. I follow and watch HK Nitra.
