As a new hockey fan, I very much appreciate your videos! I subscribed at the start of these Playoffs, after watching just one of your breakdown videos. Very good content and well deserved growth! I’ve been a VERY casual “fan” of the Panthers for a while, but only because I live in the greater Fort Lauderdale area. It wasn’t until I was invited to game 2 of the series against Tampa Bay, where I felt the electricity in the building of the fans, seeing the energy all around, the passion and dedication for the sport and the team, that I really understood why people love this sport. After that I became obsessed with all things hockey. I got myself a jersey and consumed the rest of the Playoffs. This SCF series has done even more to get me to fall in love with this sport! Because of the 3-wins-in-a-row that each team got the ultimate winner would always end up with devastating heartbreak for the other fan base. Either for FL because they were ONE win away, then lost three, or for EDM because they clawed back and gave so much hope. It was truly an amazing series to watch and the emotional roller coaster that was experienced by everyone involved cannot be understated. Maybe this is a curse, because it’ll be rare to see another series (let alone SCF) that is this dramatic, but I am very much looking forward to the new season and to be able to watch my FL Panthers again!

I wish there had been a channel like this when I was growing up, but I'm glad you've made it now. Lots of video content is just background noise but your videos always keep my eyes glued to the screen & even rewinding to rewatch little details I didn't fully absorb. One of my all-time favorite channels. As far as my own opinions... McDavid was the right choice for the Conn-Smythe. Even when he wasn't putting numbers on the board it was insane to watch his vision on the ice. He's the single biggest reason the Oilers made it to the playoffs, to the finals, to Game 7, and even down to the very last seconds. I honestly think if he hadn't lost his feet multiple times that game, it might have been enough of a difference to change the outcome. I did not expect to care about or even watch an Oilers-Panthers final, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Some of the most exciting hockey I've ever seen in my life. Every dog has it's day. Strangely, as a Habs fan (I'm a French Canadian born in 87; Habs won in '86 (again) so being a Habs fan as a French Can. of my generation is pretty much the default way), when the Habs won their last in 1993, I was 6 years old. I don't remember that. I remember my non-hockey-fan mom though saying, "Habs always win, it's nothing special" (in French of course). I took it for granted then because of that. They had won over a quarter of all Stanley Cups at the time. I would never have expected to turn 37 (now) and not see the Habs win again, but that's the reality. They went to the finals in a Cinderella run in 2021, I thought it just might be Disney-movie-run. It wasn't. The Stanley Cup just becomes harder to win with every team that is added. So yeah, enjoy it. It doesn't last and no matter what the past is, this just might be the last Panthers cup in QUITE some time... I know that reality very well. Enjoy it.

I kept hearing about this Mcdavid guy and expected him to do video game things but I didn’t see it. He looked good but nothing like he’s doing 180 slap shots at 200 mph. So why is he the “greatest”? Honest question from a new hockey fan
@TheSalPic6 ай бұрын
it is kind of hard to explain until you watch more and more and more hockey. You know how LeBron can just make stuff happen? Do you know how Steph Curry can just seemingly shoot from anywhere at any time and have a go in? McDavid is the hockey version of that. His speed and ability to find the open space and his ability to get the puck through 2 or 100 guys, going faster than everybody is truly something to behold. And this season, his dominance was largely through assists. He had 100 of them which doesn’t really happen.

The Conn Smythe isn't an award for who's the most effective in every aspect, its an award for who was the single most impactful player in the playoffs. Barkov was simply not as effective as McDavid. The fact that the Panthers were able to win while not even having the most effective playoff performer on their team should be seen as even more impressive. Winning a cup is hard enough, doing it against the best player in the world is even more impressive. No point being sad with the Cup in your hands.

@@hookseybaby Ask yourself this. Would 99 have gone back out to get it? Yeah....of course he would. Sometimes you've gotta suck up your selfishness and do what's right for the game. The idea that it was "leadership" to not go out is absolutely preposterous, and you know it. Take off the homer glasses just for a second. It's OK to admit that McD is a bit of a baby about things, and still realize he's the best player the game has seen since Crosby.
@lucg40056 ай бұрын
Take a look at every picture of players accepting the con smyth who were on the losing team. Then tell me why you think he should have gone out to accept it. He couldn’t care less about it. He just lost when they were so close, and you expect him to put on a smile for the camera? Bruh he’s devastated about the loss, how is that being selfish?

This was decided after the Oilers went down 3 games. By game 7 the Oilers were so out of gas you would think there was an oil embargo.

McDavid had an abdominal tear, which will require surgery. Draisaitl was playing with a broken rib and a broken finger. This info has been released to the media recently.

Simple, I don’t like the panthers because their whole game plan is to physically hurt, beat, and break down players of the opposite team in order to win. It’s 80% physical brutality, 20% skill in hockey. Thachuk and Bennett are two of the biggest goons in the business and I physically cannot stand either of them. Lastly hockey is a winter sport and it has borderline zero business in a tropical climate such as Florida. So to have the panthers win over a city like Edmonton, where it’s far enough north that you get proper winters, and you can actually play the sport outdoors 4-5 months a year, is so stupid.

Depends on how you define best. I'm a Panthers fan, but in terms of raw skill and talent, no one is better than McDavid right now. I'd say Crosby was equal in his prime and definitely more complete.

Florida could've taken Edmonton in 4 straight, but they felt bad & let them come back, lol. Florida even gave the Edmonton fans the 8 - 1 blowout to make them feel good.
@lucg40056 ай бұрын
Is it that hard to admit Edmonton finally came back, only for Florida to finally respond back in game 7? I don’t get this narrative that the oilers have just gotten lucky this entire season. Good win for panthers, tough loss for oilers, but well fought.

If it wasn't for the way he played in 4-6 and getting pulled for the back up in 4 I could see it. But mcdavid was good all playoffs except games 6 n 7 but he set the record so I see why they gave it to him over Bob.
@frozenrabbit56416 ай бұрын
Nah. If Panther then I say Barkov. If Bob would have been like best goalie in playoffs maybe then. Or even clear best goalie of final series, but Skinner matched him pretty much. But Barkov as center of team's defense was just as good as he is at shutting down opponents and he also produced most points for the team. But that being said I can not call McDavid's playoff run being awarded as disgusting. That was one hell of a run.
