It's super corny to admit this but watching you talk about Sid has changed my entire mindset about hockey. I always felt like I had missed out during my prime playing years and not lived up to my full potential. But seeing him play at the world's highest level and remain one of the world's greatest players in his mid-30s made me realize there is no reason I can't keep trying to improve my own game. Sure, I'm not going to be scouted for the PWHL, I'm not going to play in college or on a national team. But I can still learn and grow as a player and I can still work my way up the ranks of beer league. I'm only 29 - I have 7 more years before I even catch up to Sid, and he's clearly got years left in his career as well. He's a huge inspiration to me on a much deeper level than he ever was when I was a kid. And I have you to thank for that understanding of his gameplay. Thank you.

If you live in the Pittsburgh area, Mark Madden is a sports show host. He's outrageous, shock jock in his style. But he knows hockey as well as anyone in the area and he's always said Crosby is the ultimate grinder. He said he would never want to be known as that, but that's what he is. He's a down low guy who drives plays and possession by wearing down players and scores a ton of his goals cleaning up garbage in front of the net or with his ridiculous hand eye ability to tip pucks in. When he was younger, he could make more flashy plays but he seems to have known when to cut that game off or at least play that style a lot less. He's a ridiculous player, truly one of the all timers and we're lucky we got to see him here for so long.

@michaelshields63263 ай бұрын
Honestly he could have had 5 or 6 Art Ross trophies if he had played literally only ~60-70 more games in his prime. He had some of the worst luck in terms of the timing of his injuries. 07/08: Was first in points and points per game before the ankle injury. Would have been neck and neck with Ovechkin if he didn't miss 29 games that year. 10/11: 66 points in 41 games. Would have needed 38 points to tie Sedin at 104 (would win it on the goals tiebreaker). Probably would have won it playing 25ish more games. 12/13: Lost the Art Ross by 4 points missing the last 12 games. Wins it if he had played 3 or 4 more games. 14/15: Missed 5 games with the mumps, lost the scoring title by 3 points on the last game of the season. Was 1st in ppg that year. 16/17: bit more questionable, but he was tied with McDavid with 10 games left despite missing 7 games. Would have been a very close race for the Art Ross.
