That's sick! I have been playing for decades. I would never have figured out the Em7 FMaj7 Cmaj7 Bbmaj7 E7#9. No way. My compliments. The riddle has been solved.

Glad it was a help. The chords are complex but worth knowing.

Great lesson. I have a vague recollection of seeing Focus perform this early 70s in Manchester and Jan playing the vocal part as Thijs had a bad throat. Many thanks.

Hi John, Glad I could help you this is great song. Sounds like a great idea to open a set. Love to see a video of it.

Great video. The transition from Em7 to the Fmaj7 is tricky. My little finger wants to sit on the G when I change chord. I’ve been playing the song without barring on them which doesn’t sound to bad just while I get hang of that switch separately.

You got the correct chords!!! I seen other videos on KZbin where they just play power chords. The first progression does have the varied chords, not just D-E power chords.

@@GuitarMates I hear something different on the E#9. There is a very distinctive C at the top (what would be called a b13, or augmented chord since there's no distinctive B anywhere). In fact, in my attempt at learning this today, I don't hear any G# at all, and I hear a fourths chord of D G C (over E, of course). Interested to hear your opinion.

That was great. A lot better than another one I just watched. I like the chord charts and the tab. You even taught the next part, a bonus, which was even easier than the first part. Subscribed.

DAMN....I've been using power chords instead of the correct Em7, Fmaj7, Cmaj7, Bbmaj7, E7#9 (I love the E7#9)...now I just have to practice transitioning from chord to chord in correct time.....lol, was much easier just using the power chords at the beginning.....well, looks like I'll be busy for an hour or more.

I just don't understand the chord diagrams and how to play them---- some of them just don't match up with what the sound is supposed to be. Frustrating
