Dear teachers, I cannot believe with just your youtube lessons, I am getting improved step by step very well🙏🙏👍👍 May I ask a question?🤗 Sometimes I hear that for the weather, my Georgian friends or neighbors says ცივია or თბილია. But as I know and also by your video, we just can use these ია for food or drink, etc not for weather. As you mentioned, for the weather ცივა and თბილა are correct. So why I hear the other ones for the weather too?
@HodaGeorgia
@HodaGeorgia 3 жыл бұрын
ცივია, თბილია the ა in the ending replaces verb "არის", for example: ამინდი ცივია, ყავა ცივია ( the weather is cold, coffee is cold and so on), but adding of ა only happens with the verb to be, in 3rd singular form(meaning "არის"), so in other cases like in past tense or other verb for instance, or future, we would say ცივი ამინდი იყო, თბილი ყავა მინდა cause we cant merge იყო, მინდა(I want) etc :)
@HodaGeorgia
@HodaGeorgia 3 жыл бұрын
Now lets discuss your cases: ცივა means it is cold, it's a general statement. But when we use cold as an adjective for smth, like coffee in your case, then we have ცივი ყავა cold coffee, or coffee is cold, ყავა ცივია. The difference between these two forms is that in first case ცივა is in the form of a verb, and in second case, ცივია this word is used as an adjective for the noun, plus the verb არის(aka "ა") merged to its ending :)

Very nice language, I adore the pronunciation. As I previously mentioned, I wish you would make the subtitles in Georgian and Latin script:) Perhaps one day! That said, I still enjoyed it!

It's strange, we always see your provocative comments, check better, it's there. We work hardly on each video, on each subtitles - all videos have latin scripts and Georgian subtitles, Push CC!

@@HodaGeorgia I thank you for your hard work! As soon as the land border opens, I go to Georgia via the land border! In this case, I just didn't know how I could see the subtitles and as in the video I only see the Latin script, I wrote that I wish the words were also written in the local language, as without that it will be hard to read things in Georgian. So thanks for the explanation! That has nothing to do with being provocative. I just try to understand!! Have a lovely day!

Welcome to Georgia 🇬🇪 we decided to put subtitles separately, because there are people who learn only conversational phrases and dont want geoletters, if followers are interested in Georgian letters they can push CC and watch with geo subtitles. So both options are available. Thank you and have a nice week ! კარგი კვირა !

@@HodaGeorgia I totally get that. We all have different needs in our learning path and thanks for having both options!!! I am glad there is this for learning Georgian as there is not that much material. Bye bye!!!
