I'm finding enough consistent information to believe the sources that say it came from the TV show Grey's Anatomy in 2005. Why are they acting so out of touch? From what I know, these terms are more or less common sense for any generation after boomers. There's no need to act older than you are, especially these days. I'd say they're pandering to soccer moms but it's 2024, even soccer moms are online enough to know basic slang... Maybe I'm missing something. All I know is I'm already 33 but Gen Z/alpha slang is still common sense to me.
