Amazing from start to end. Watching both of them match wits was incredible. Thank you Dave and Barbara for showing this one again! Loved every minute of it.

No, Hugh Grant is not dead, but there was a New York Times article in 1930 about a man named Hugh Grant who died at the age of 81. The article also mentioned that he built large sections of several railroads in Canada.

Nice hosting Mr. Letterman! It's always a pleasure watching you work despite the occasional joke slump, ----which we do all have, all undergo, that's natural, nothing to worry about. Which ones? Well...but you are a master of so-called small talk as well as bigger subjects, all very important. But, I am not so much of an 'Anglophobe' (matter of fact I am an 'Anglophile' - nice big words, huh?) that I expect this articulate English gentleman with his famous and fully charming native accent to have to try to meet the American standard of accents established by Gosh George Lindsay, or Jim Nabors or even well Don Rickles. He couldn't do it. That's like forcing Harry Belafonte to sing Abba in Swedish, or something.

I, for one, was impressed by Mr. Grant's attempt at an American accent. It was brief and only half-hearted, but sounded convincing to me.

@@matureyoungman His demeanor is narcissistic and his sense of humor is basic. It gets extra painful when an actually funny person goes on his show and he shoots down any riff, so as to not be outshined. That, and of course the incessant political grandstanding.
