This how i am reading his EX weapon skill: When his summoned warriors die, they explode causing any enemies hit to lose 200 energy. When an enemy is hit by his ult, they recieve the debuff (voidbound magic) enemies with the debuff also explode on death, but explosions from this source only cause nearby enemies to lose 140 energy, instead of the 200 caused by Hodgkin's soldiers.

This, but it says ANY unit -- which heavily implies that him damaging allies *also* turns them into grenades. So he seems like a hybrid summoner hero + melee hero that cares about physical damage, which makes me think he'll be a blast (pun intended) to play now, and really really shine down the road.

His true worth will come down to if his ult hits summons or not.

He might be VERY powerful in DR in a zoo comp if his ult hits summons, since at +10 they will blow up dealing damage when they die and his phys shred will help Flora and Cecia's summons hit harder while they live. Also he seems like a really good fit in a Eironn comp with melee units, if Hodgkin hits everyone with his ult, friend and foe alike, once one dies the explosions from his +10 will snowball while draining the energy of anyone who survives.

the ult seems like a double-edged sword if you have other melee heroes in your comp or if an enemy is right next to your allies, the 100% damage on top of deficit enemies' damage is kinda bad for afk stages unless you go for the summoner comp to max out that explosion damage of the voidbound magic

I’m not really vibing with his look over all (I summon based on feelings, that’s how I play all my games) so I’ll probably just wait and see just how good he is, I mainly use a Graveborn team so I might have to pick him up after skipping Nara for the same reasons

They made him immune to phys dps, we have barely any phys dps. I would rather be immune to Lily, Talene, Tasi, etc, rather than Dionel, Vala or Sinbad.

Kruger is 40% shred vs Hodgkin 30%. But it seems Kruger may have better uptime, and Kruger is a mauler for better faction bonuses.
