In this episode they discuss how Pearson got started in the sport; switching from dirt tracks to pavement; racing against Ralph Earnhardt and Banjo Matthews; how a friend helped him get started in Grand National; running Daytona as a rookie; winning three "super-speedway" races in 1961; racing Junior Johnson on dirt at Hickory NC, driving for Holman Moody; working with Chris Vallo, getting started with the Wood Brothers; dialing the car in during a race; flipping a cigarette at Buddy Baker during a race, being on the same radio frequency as Buddy Baker during a race: getting hit by Cale Yarborough while leading the 1975 Daytona 500; the finish of the 1976 Daytona 500; the end of his career with the Wood Brothers; 11 consecutive poles at Charlotte Speedway; getting a strawberry pie in the face after spinning out Tiny Lund in Hickory NC; retirement and pranking Jim Hunter.

Simply the finest driver that ever crawled in a stock car. He was asked by a interviewer " David who is the greatest stock car driver that ever lived?" David sat there a second and said " Well, I once heard Richard Petty say that the greatest stock car race car driver HE had ever seen was David Pearson and you know, I will just have to agree with the King!!"
